Hi Polkies

Does anyone know the difference between these two speakers? I saw an old write up on Polk Floorstanding Speakers. One thing I found curious is MSRP (mind you this was probably and old write up)

RT2000i msrp $995.95
RT2000p msrp $2,000.00
RT3000p msro $1,800.00

2000p's more than the 3000p's???

The price on the 2000P you show was for a pair the other 2 where for 1 speaker.
the 2000i was msrp 999.95 each
    2000p msrp 998.95 each
    and 3000p msrp 1799.95 each
Man, every time i see the 3000p's I want them more.

    What are 2009P's?

There's no sonic difference between the i and the p.

The 3000P's are supposed to be on a whole different level than the 2000P's ;)

    I beg to differ,
The rt2000p's used a different tweeter and an older black midrange driver.
The rt2000i's had a revamped Tweeter and a blue driver with a new crossover. The end results was a slighty more smooth sounding speaker. The change was minimum but noticeable. I learned this when I wanted to improve the sound quality of my Rt1000p's. I talk to a engineer at polk and he said the improvements in the tweeter and crossover are worth checking out. I felt my speakers sounded their best after the upgrade.

    Really?

I know the midrange was of a different color but was under the impression that it was the same type.

Didn't know they used a different tweeter, what improvements did they make? I know they used the tri-laminate dome tweeter (I had a pair of 1000P's), what'd they put in the i series?
