Overdriving CS10?

I was just doing some acoustic analysis of my room and was using my CS10 center to do some frequency sweeps from 1hz-50khz and noticed a burning rubber smell... not good. I had my Pioneer 919AH-k at -5dB. The amp's rated for 110 watts, and the CS10 is rated for up to 125. So far, after having let it cool down for a few hours, it seems to sound fine.
