My Colts open up their season in Houston this weekend, here's to hoping they don't fall into the 'super bowl loser' slump that most teams tend to fall into the year after they lose the super bowl.

They looked awfully sloppy, as did a lot of teams. Funny thing is, didn't Peyton set a career record for completions?
I wonder how long Dallas is going to play their first teams against Washington on Sunday night :D j/k, I'm sure the Redskins aren't THAT bad...oh and yes I still hate the Cowboys this year, so no change there.

I HATE the Cowboys. Last night was a treat. Unbelievable mistakes from those idiots. I hope it's an omen.
I'm gomnna go out on a limb and say I don't think we'll see either of these teams in the super bowl, but if I had to pick one I'd actually pick the Vikings. How crazy is THAT???!!!

Dunno about that, but I sure hope the Saints can contend. I think they may have a better team this year than last.

The Vikes? I think they might suck even more than last year. They need a QB bad.

Cowboys sucked it big time last night. There is so much talent on that team, such a shame to see it go to waste with all the boneheaded mental mistakes. It's not like its just this one time either, it seems like several times a year the Cowboy fans are left scratching their heads thinking 'WTF' - there's a history of these boneheaded decisions year after year.

I'm sure Romo thinks it's 'cute' or whatever, but it's just dumb. Get with the program Romo, time to grow up and be a big boy quarterback. All that talent, such a waste...

Honestly, Romo wasn't the problem last night. The offensive line was. The RT was horrendous! What's his name? Barron? Yeah, cut him instantly if I was in charge. Romo was constantly having to run from defensive ends and linebackers. Most of the penalties came from the offensive line as well. Dallas' defense did a great job and McNabb was running scared for a good chunk of the game. But if the offense can't put any points up, what's the use?

But the last play before the half? Yeah, that was a "hail mary" setup before the penalty call which pushed them back. They should have taken a knee at that point but Wade didn't make the decision and Garrett didn't take the initiative. Yeah, Romo could have changed the play and taken a knee with an audible but, well, he didn't. Given the situation and the lack of time on the clock, I can see how he had bigger things to worry about. But really, should the guy have to worry about what his coaching staff is thinking and change the play himself no matter what they do or don't tell him? I mean, teh QB should be able to have at least a small modicum of faith in his coaching staff that they know what they are doing, right? Well, maybe not I guess.

Yeah, Dallas sucked because of stupid coaching decisions and penalties that you see in high school football, not the pros. Oh and Scandrick with his stupid offside penalty on the field goal...yeah. Stupid, stupid mistake and he's LUCKY that the 'skins holder screwed up the snap and gave them the ball at the 'skins 23 yard line on downs.

But Barron. Yeah. Moron. Williams gets the game winning touchdown and it's called back for holding but with 3 seconds on the clock, no chance for another play and Dallas loses the game because of a witless O-lineman. Bogus.

I think Dallas showed alot of ability but the penalties killed them. Not to take away anything from the 'skins because they played fairly well. Especially for having a new QB and such. But, Dallas beat themselves as much as the Redskins beat them. They do it every time. Penalty after penalty too. But for once, I don't think Romo was the problem. I think it was bad coaching and far too many mistakes. The Redskins as well looked good but Dallas was so awful that it's hard to gauge how good the 'skins actually are. McNabb looked good but his numbers were mediocre. Dallas's offense put up way better numbers but no points. That and the place kicker, first field goal attempt in anger ever and he shanks a gimmie way wide right. How? WTF, dude? How?

Anyway, Dallas has alot of work to do. I think the offense was clicking between Romo and his receivers and the run game looked as solid as ever. I don't think the defense was ever in question and they did a good job. That offensive line needs work and alot of it though. The Redskins looked composed and if Haynesworth stops pouting they have a wicked defense as well. McNabb looked good, like he was 10 years younger. I think the 'skins are a dark horse this year and they are going to mess up many more Sundays for many other teams, not just the Cowboys.

I didn't really intend to put all the blame on Romo, although that is kinda how it came across. I was really only referring to the one big mistake that he made at the end of the half. I don't know what play was called, and honestly I'm good with a hail mary pass right there, he doesn't necessarily have to take a knee. But that sorta halfass sideway pass thing he did was just dumb, no other way to say that.

You take away that one play and he had a good game. But also, you take away that one play and Dallas probably wins. That's what you get with Romo though, just like Favre, you get flashes of brilliance, but occasionally get those 'WTF' plays.

He's entertaining to watch though, hard to argue that.

Well, that's the thing. They lined up for a hail mary and the defense saw the spread. Then they screw up and get the penalty and then they line up for the EXACT SAME PLAY. Like....DUH! So the defense was all over the coverage and Romo had no one open. So rather than throw the pick, he shuffled it out to Choice who had room. If Choice had gotten another 10 yards past where he was tackled and managed to bail out of bounds, they were in field goal range with the clock stopped. Romo only did that because the coverage was there and he had no where to go. He couldn't throw it out of bounds near Choice with him being behind the line of scrimmage, that'd be a penalty, so he improvised. IMO, it was a good decision. Choice lost the ball because he didn't protect it well enough and Hall was able to knock it out. I don't think I would call it Hall stripping Choice though. The better decision would have been to take a knee.

Still, you're right, without that touchdown, Dallas had the game. But if Barron hadn't had the stupid mistake with 3 seconds left, Roy Williams had a TD as well and that would have won the game as well. Then again, if Dallas hadn't missed that first field goal attempt, it would have gone to OT even with the last penalty against Barron and the outcome would have been different too.

What's that saying though? "If 'ifs' and 'buts' were candy and nuts, we'd all have a wonderful Christmas."

    There's always next week.

OK, the Chiefs are suitably impressive at this point in time! They have a brutal pass rush and killer special teams. If Matt Cassell can get his fecal matter together and get some consistency, they have a pretty good team if not, dare I say it, dynasty in the makings! This is a good team. Bottom line. Good talent, decent depth and young. Very young. All good things to build a dominant team. I thought this was going to be the bad MNF game too. Boy was I wrong!
