I have a Yamaha DVC6480 5 disc player. I have a problem whith the player releasing the disc late. When you press eject buttom the tray starts to move outwards & than the disc is released. The disc is dropped after the tray is moved out so the disc ends up under the tray. When that happens I need to open the top cover push eject, the tray comes out & I can take the disc out. Does anyone here have any idea if this is a easy repair or is there a quick fix or adjustmnent? The player works well & I dont want to buy a now one if I dont have to. Darn its just over a year old so its out of warranty too! Any sugestions?

Mantis,
Thanks for the info. Ill track down the Yamaha repair company here & see what it will cost! Darn maybe its time for a Denon 2900, Oh my wife will be real happy when I tell her I may need to buy another player! Hope the repair is not to expensive or I may really need to think about a new player! Got any idea of what is wrong? Is is a mechanical adjustment or an electrical problem? -
I have no Idea whats wrong with it.
I would look into Sony 5 disc if your into them they don't cost much and they never break down as far as out of the box.
Depending on what your looking for in a new DVD player,Sony in my opnion next to Pioneer is the very best.At all levels.Sony dvd player are just solid, rock solid.
Yamaha,Panansonic,Toshiba and even Denon come broken out of the box from time to time.Denon is the worse.
Pioneer Elite and Sony have never came broken out of the box.
DVD players are cheap now, unless you buy a really good one.You do however have a cheaper alternitive if you want one....the Pioneer DV45a.......not thebest DVD player on the market but SACD and DVD AUDIO loaded Progressive scan. For 500.0 retail it's hard to beat.
The Denon 2900 is stunning......the video quality is awesome.I really enjoyed installing it and found the picture quality to be top notch.....As long as it isn't broken out of the box.....we haven't had any broken out of the box yeat.....Knock on wood.Dan

mantis,
Thanks for the info. I wish my player was broken out of the box. Its now One Year & 3 weeks old! Darn 3 weeks out of warranty. I watched a movie last night & had no problems the disc was dropped in the correct slot in the tray, but I know the problem will happen again. Ill call the repair company & see what would it cost to repair. I wanted to wait till HD DVD comes out to buy my next player but I may need to get one sooner! Oh well thats life! -
Yeah that does suck........but
then you'll have a brand new one.......thats the positive side anywayDan

That's an interesting problem. I haven't seen that with any here. I really like the Yamaha dvd players, performance wise. I was playing around with the Denon 2900 today and it seems pretty nice, but I still think I would wind up with the Yamaha DVDS2300. I think it has better colors.
