I have a Polk iSonic ES-1 (non iPod). I can't get the Aux Out to work.

I have headphones attached via RCA's, but they're not picking up any sound.

Would someone please tell me how to make this connection work? It there a setting via the front panel LCD I should use? (The User Manual doesn't cover it.) Thanks.

    Hello,
Welcome to Polk's Forum. Can you explain a little bit more about what you're setting up? Have you tried plugging your headphones into the headphone jack on the unit? You might need an adaptor to convert the headphone plug size to fit.
    Regards, Ken

Hi - thanks for your reply. Let me explain my problem in more detail...

I have Sennheiser RL 120 headphones that connect to the source via 2 male RCA plugs (only). I've tried plugging them in to the Aux Out RCAs on my Polk iSonic ES-1, but I can't get any sound out of them.

I've looked on the Polk LCD screen and in the User Guide, but I can't find any way to set up the Aux Out.

Is this the purpose of the Aux Out feature, or is it supposed to be used for something else (like a DVD-to-TV hookup only)? I'm trying it with the Polk set to HD Radio.

If this can't be done, I'll buy a "2 female RCA to male mini audio" cable and use that... but the Aux Out has to be there for a reason. :) I'm hoping you can tell me what it is & how to use it with my headphones.

    Thanks.

    Hello,
I'm going to assume you are referring to the RS-120 headphones, correct? If so, I believe I know the problem. The outputs on the IES are controlled by the volume control on the unit. Polk designed this output to provide a variable signal to a sub-woofer. This means you'll have to get a 3.5mm stereo headphone plug and put it into the headphone jack on the side of the I-Sonic. This will shut off the internal speakers. Then you can raise the volume control and it should work fine with your headphones.
    I hope this is helpful.

Yes, they're the RS-120s. I'll get the adapter for the headphone jack.

Thank you. I appreciate your help!
