After peeking at home setups like darque knight and reading his long incredibly "informative" layered posts, I was feeling a littleenvious.

then i began to remember sitting in the barracks of Ft. Myer Va. 1978 or 79,20 years old, all the parts working. Listening to alan parsons pyramid, or maybe allmans fillmore live on my floor model sx1050 i got for 200 bucks. Doing my own double blind study of beer and that raven haired girl from spain that didnt have a straight line on her body.

it was then i realized, as nice as it must be to own that kind of gear and be that knowledgable of esoteric, theoretical blah blah blah, its really not about that.

Is it.

That's true unless you're a banned member of Club Polk.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yes dude it's all about the music as you so poetically put it.

No it isn't...at least, not for me. Hence my comment from a couple of years ago:

Well, I can’t speak for my fellow [SDA] society members, but I personally don’t listen to speakers. I listen to music. Speakers and electronics are just means to facilitate the enjoyment of music. I don’t pursue audio gear for gear’s sake. I pursue gear for music’s sake.
