So i bought a pair of r50s last year, but forgot to send in the warranty cards due to being busy with school. Last week, one of my speakers started sounding muffled and quiet. I was thinking about sending them into polk since its within 5 years but was wondering if they would take it because i forgot to send in the warranty card. I still have the proof of purchase
thanks

Hello,
The warranty card isn't necessary, only a valid sales receipt. Telephone Polk's CD guys/ladies at 1-800-377-7655 and they can probably send you the necessary parts and you can fix the speaker yourself.

Sounds like your tweeter went out, happened to one of my Monitor 60's. Take off the face cover and put your ear next to the tweeter, if you don't hear sound, it needs to be replaced.

If it's a woofer, lightly put your finger on the rubber surround. If you don't feel vibration (especially at higher levels), then it's probably shot.polkaudio Monitor 5 Series II
