Well folks, today my MicroPro 3000 decided it did not want to turn on. I noticed I wasnt getting the bass I normally hear from watching Transformers, and sure enough, the MicroProo was off. I pulled it from the cabinet where it normally sits and plugged into a different outlet with a different extension cord and NO luck. I do hear a small clicking noise when current is flowing to it coming from the amp section. But no lights come on and obviously no sound. Does anybody have any experience with the amp section troubleshooting it? I'm looking for a little help from someone who has done some troubleshooting on this sub series before. I will probably open her up tomorrow to see if I see anything obvious. If I cant get this going this weekend, I will call Customer Service on Monday to get a replacement amp quoted.

Thanks

Juan

Since it's a new product, nothing has been reported here that I have read personally. It's also new enough to be under warranty so it doesn't really matter. Call CS as planned and they will remedy the situation. Done and done is what you should be posting after you talk with them.

Do you have a receipt and are you the original owner? That could make a difference. Let me know if you have any problems...not drama, problems.

Leroy - The product is practically brand new. There is a 3 Year limited warranty on powered subwoofers, which can be read HERE or on the website under Support for anyone reading.

EDITED: It appears that he isn't the original owner, so Polk CS will have to make the call on this issue. He's not covered as a second owner but the Warranty Information should be a bookmark for any lurker or Polkie....just to check stuff. I keep it to make sure I know what has changed, or not changed since I don't get emails about those useful tidbits.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Dorokusai, are all the amps used in the DSW microPRO series the same?

No, they have different power ratings(wpc) so the board architecture is different between the amplifiers. I'm sure they are similar in many ways overall but I wouldn't suggest swapping amplifiers between same series subwoofers...if that's what you're alluding to since you own another DSW Pro(From PM).

Thanks, I was going to do a swap with a microPRO 2000 amp just to do a little troubleshooting and rule on the amp portion.

I spoke with Gil from their repair facility and he explained to me that there actually is a difference amongst the three Micro Pro models. I own two other Micro Pro 2000 subwoofers and wanted to see if I could interchange one and he recommended I NOT do that. Although the specs are the same, the subwoofers are different and therfore the amps are customized for each subwoofer size.
