I poked around as well and could see no sign of anything that would have gotten you banned... There was no banned tag next to your user name either.

    Dude, I wouldn't worry about it beyond a 2 second span. I got banned once because I posted....and I quote....."Who cares?"

Since then? The mods have contacted me numerous times to join back into the discussion. There comes a time in life when you need to just face the fact that there are some places you don't belong and it's worth your time not to be involved. It has nothing to do with you, it's just that you have better things to do with your life and that where you got banned is not worth pursuing due to the internal BS politics. Live and let live, then consider yourself a better person because you are.

It's not like that joint isn't ran like a dictatorship or anything......

Consider yourself lucky, not banned. ;)

I've been banned from a lot of places. That's what happens as you age, the list gets longer. Never a internet forum though.

They don't sign your paycheck, and you don't wake up next to them (you're not SUPPOSED to wake up next to them), so screw them.

What makes you get banned there? Did you mention about the problem Ricardo have with Emotiva product?

I am a memeber over at the emo lounge. I have never noticed any issues with it. However, I pay no attention to their processors as I just have their amp. Which, by the way, is getting a really bad rap in this thread. I think its a nice ampwith a great price. Sure the blue light is pretty bright, but it sounds great to my ears.

Why all the negativity towards their amps? Have users had issues with them (sound or build quality)?

I maintained a very low profile and tended to only comment on things of a general nature. Never said anything pro or con about the lineup they offer. I did have a hard time accepting one guy telling that the the speaker line up would blow my old Paradigm S8's out of the water in a PM, didn't bother to respond.

One PM suggested I sell all my gear and upgrade to a the full line. What?

No big deal to be banned from there. I was only interested in the HT piece which does not seem to be ready for prime time.

gelinas, I'm glad to hear you're happy with your gear. This thread is about getting banned, not an Emotiva "gear" bash session. If you search, you may find one or two threads which may answer your question.

Luck has really nothing to do with it & the amp is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

As long as YOU are happy with it that is all that matters.

Most on here have advanced to more expensive gear which to them sounds better so they feel inclined to tell every Emotiva owner that they MUST listen to other gear so that they can hear the difference & upgrade to something else.

Enjoy the system you have Gelinas, you have put it together with good gear that can keep you entertained for years to come.:)

I thought it was because of a thread or threads of Emotiva users boasting that their amps were reference high-end gear and that they didn't need to listen to other amps, not an elitist attitude.

FTR I do agree with you:cool: but my experience with the XPA-2 was just BAD,, and I dont have that much experience in this hobby, I just hated it.If you are happy with it "that is all that matters", But if your looking beyond for better resolution then I believe everything matters..;)

second that. It comes from when people will say emo will beat say a Krell 20K system, and ate a Theta for lunch then pooped a YBL. It just really doesn't happen I'm sorry.

yes people can enjoy the amps, and thats fine, its just when people go over the top and say its the best think since sliced bread that bothers me (and others).

regarless this was not ment to be a whole emo bad thread, ect but is to be about Gordon's ban ect.

Also note that Emo does not say banned or anything under one's name after it happens, you only know when you try to log in that you can't. Kinda annoying as its nice to see who's still around ect.

Oh please when was the last time you saw some newbie Emotiva owner come here boasting of that? Not for a long long time. It's that some of you just don't know when to let something like that go & fade away.

And did you bother read what you wrote? Maybe for them it is "reference high-end gear." It all depends on each individuals perspective.

It's not for you or anyone else to say if each individuals gear is high-end or not, simply based on what they paid for it. That is an elitest attitude and we all know it.

If they are content with their system they DON'T have to listen to any other gear.

Some of you think that everyone is into this hobby to endlessly upgrade to better more expensive gear. The vast majority simply want to assemble a great sounding system within thier financial means and then enjoy it.

Same. If I had no interest in music, I'd still have both of mine, too. Perfectly fine (perhaps wonderful) for HT, gaming, etc... IMHO. I usually have a difficult time discerning the fidelity in HT.

Closed per OP request. This just isn't going anywhere anymore....if it was anyways. Whenever I see this gear sliced as EMO, I think of that awful stand-up comic Emo Phillips. I'm not sure why but his comedy sucked....really sucked.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
