It depends on what is your fave? Like for me, my 2 faves that hit home are Texas flood and couldn't stand the weather. Besides amazing music, they just bring me back to some happy places from my past. For me, besides just listening to great music, a song or artist can almost transport me back to a certain time of my life or just floods of memories come rushing back. Those 2 LP's do that to me out of all of his. I love all of his music but those are the 2 that will transport me back and no matter what I am doing, I just sit down and can't get up till they are over.
Now back to your scheduled programing.
the older you get, the more true it becomes.
Also, stevie ruined it for me, i cant really get into, say joe bonamassa, even though a hugely talented artist, or in the past kenny wayne shepard.
it was just organic with stevie, it was really in him, dont believe me, check out live at the el mocambo dvd.
favorite song probably "Change It"humpty dumpty was pushed -
Not a huge fan either but nice to hear about the new titles nonetheless...as well as the new SACD commitment.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Any suggestions on any of these. No, I do not need them ALL.
For me Couldn't Stand the Weather and In Step top the list as SRV & Double Trouble's most "complete" albums. But there are also certain tracks on Texas Flood (Lenny) and The Sky is Crying (Little Wing), that I wouldnt' want to be without. If I had to choose one, it would be Couldn't Stand the Weather. If I had to choose two it would be Couldn't Stand the Weather and In Step. I'll probably get them all. I haven't heard the MoFi versions yet, so I'm just talking about the music here, not the quality of the mastering or the SACDs on the MoFi versions.
I did just order Texas Flood for $22.69 and Couldn't Stand the Weather for $25.69 from Amazon. I'd like to patronize music direct, but I think $6.00 to ground ship one CD is obscene. -
Just ordered the same (Texas Flood and Couldn't Stand The Weather). Can't wait to hear Lenny on the 2.3TL's. Phenominal song.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I received these discs and am very, very satisfied with them. They came a couple of days ago, and I had a quick listen to the SACD layer, with no real chance to compare to anything else. I thought they sounded really nice and "alive", but I didn't take the time to try to identify why.
Right now I'm doing a little bit of a comparison some FLAC files ripped from the CD layer on the MoFi disc and some FLAC files ripped from my original (non-expanded) CD of Couldn't Stand The Weather. I don't think the differences are subtle. The original seems murky in comparison to the MoFi, especially the bass playing. Bass notes are much more real sounding and dynamic on the MoFi. The bass also seems to reach a little bit deeper. In the original, all of the instruments are kind of mushed together, and sometimes the bass seems like it's some sort of growling machine instead of a picked string instrument. Drums and cymbals sound much more real, and the vocals are right there, like Stevie's ghost is in the room singing to me.
Check out the title track from about 2:30 to the end, then just let the beginning of "The Things (That) I Used to Do" knock you out. Keep in mind, that I'm just comparing CD layers, not SACD to CD.
Now Voodoo Chile is playing. Wow, just wow!
Kudos to MoFi. I can't wait to spend more time listening to the SACD layer.
Thanks!

It's possible that MoFi remastered the album using DSD and then downconvert it as the CD layer. -

All I know is that it is masterpiece, as good as it gets.>

Nail on the head, my friend. I remember my mom was driving me to the record store when I heard the news on the radio; I was floored. My aunt had taken me to see him and Jeff beck pretty recently as my first concert. Had 2 beers on the way in (maybe first beers, too) and I fell asleep during Beck, only time I woke up was when Terry Bozio did his drum solo. SRV was, of course, incredible.
I'll start with the first release and go from there. Lenny has gotta have the best guitar tone ever, IMO.
It must of been one of Jeff Becks off nights to have fallen asleep during one of his shows or maybe it was the couple of beers you had. Wow Beck and SRV at the same show wish I could of seen that combo just Saw Beck a while back it was an amazing show.Home Theater
