I've asked that before, and got zip response. For the price of admission, you'd think someone would have given it a shot. Some swear by it on other forums,so I dunno.

I tried one back in the 80's when they made home units. I don't remember much about the sound, except that the effect sounded cool at first, but grew old rather quickly. Added quite a bit of noise as well.

I currently own a Sonic Maximizer and love it. It really brings a nice touch to your tone. You can dial it in to your taste and get the most out of your tone.

I run mine in the effects loop in front of the amp but behind the preamp. I run my rig with it on and off depending on what I want to hear.

    My rig consists of

Krank Revolution 1 2 12 combo , Jackson SL3 Guitar( I use this the most ) Boss Dual pedal Delay , Boss Dual pedal Chorus and thats it. I use to run a Boss DD10 multi effects processor in the 4 wire cable method but I came to find I never used the preamp section and only used it's delay and Chorus. Once in a while I would play with it but it altered my Drive tone when I played with it in the effects loop and nothing processing. I found some flaws with it in my rig.
I also had a Peavey JSX and it worked great with that head.

I say buy a BBE and give it a home test drive. Some claim it un masks there rig , I say it enhances it with a nice sparkle touch. My rig does fine without it , but some things I do I love it on.

Mantis, I had a BBE in my guitar rack back in the 80's and 90's. Stopped giging sold the stack and rack gear and stepped down to a small tube combo and a few pedals. Still got 14 guitars though, mostly old Kramers and Charvels and a few strats and Tele's. But I was mainly asking this question for using a BBE in a home stereo setup. Would love to have a Krank Rev too!

Tony, I have a chance to get a 362 for like dirt cheap and was wondering. Heard some people use them. I have an old Pioneer Dynamic Expander EX-9000, pictured here...http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=222028. I am guessing a BBE works about the same. Might snag the BBE and give it a try.

I'm not sure what kind of results you would have in a home system. Old Charvels huh? Willing to part with one?

Nah I can't part with them or the Kramers. I do have a Charvel 375 I might part with. But its one of the lower end models I picked up a few years back.

On the carver form, there was a thread about bbe and how well they worked with carver amazings as well as other speakers. I do own one and on the ribbons it really does sound fantastic. On the SDA's, .. not so much. I have not tired it out on my Vandersteen's.

They do have a few bbe units that are not for band and they were made for home audio.

I will say this, on the amazings, it was like someone took a blanket off of the front of them. It did fantastic with them.
