Here is a thread where one member built his own using original Polk specs. You'll want stands it makes a difference.

nice snag. What version of the 10's are they?

If they are "series 2's", then they have the sl2500 tweeters. The sl2500 can be replaced with the newer RD0-198, which is also the replacement for the sl3000's in your 2.3tls, so they'd be timber-matched if you replaced all the tweets.

If they are any of the older model monitor 10's then you won't be able to put 198's in them, and they won't be timber-matched to your 2.3's.

Other speakers you could use as surrounds or as a center that would be timber-matched to the 2.3's are the RTA-11tl (sl-3000), RTA-15tl (sl-3000), any of the other tl'd SDA's (sl-3000) or any of the monitor series 2's (sl-2500).
    2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses

    Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's

The monitor 10's were my first "big" Polk speakers. I had 5jr's before that. Of course, I eventually moved to my SDA's, but my old Monitor 10's are still pulling HT fronts duty in my brother's setup.

I'm using Monitor 10A's as rear channels for my 2.3TL's and they do well.

I have a pair of Monitor 10's with SL2000 tweeters that I would like to do the SL3000 mod to so I can put RDO-198's in them. The mod is on this page:

BTW- I bought some basic stands from racksandstands.com and they fit the bill nicely. I'll see if I can find them.

Edit: Here you go... these are exactly what I bought - http://www.racksandstands.com/Wood-Technology-FGH-8-O-WT0207.html

    Congrats Mole!

So was it the powerball or a scratch off? :D:p

I was just reading that thread on monitor stands earlier today. I am definitely going to build some for myself. Maybe I should do a few sets at the same time and get them out there. Seems like a lot of people would like some as the originals don't seem to have survived like the speakers.
    Sounds good to me...

i love getting new things, because you learn so much more. i wanna get the 2.3TL's modded and then start working on the M 10's.

now i really need to get a bigger AMP. the one thing i did notice is that the 10's did not have much bass. but they sounded GOOD!

SDA SRS 2.3TL's for the Fronts, Monitor 10's for the rears. will my CSi5 center be OK until i find something that will match better? now what to do with the SDA 2B's im getting?

thanks for all the wonderful info guys. keep it coming.

    Mon 10's missing Bass:confused:
You defiantly need a better amp then...:p
    Nice pair though

CSi5 is the best/ closet match for a center, IMO, until you custom build one from vintage drivers :D

Try putting the 10s in the front / powering them with what you're powering the 2.3s and see how the base sounds with a more powerful amp.

    You should be presently surplised

Did you try the passive push test?

Maybe you just have a leaky terminal cup or need to tighten down a driver.
    Sounds good to me...

Most listeners complain that the 10s are a little bass heavy if anything. You're not playing hip hop crap through them are you ?

Change to "Source Direct" or whatever it is that doesn't mess with the signal at all.
