Ipods Suck

No, it was not jailbroken. I have never downloaded anything from limewire, only CDs or from Itunes.
Not sure why it did it. I should have it back by Tuesday or Wednesday the lady said.

I'm sorry if this has been covered, but have you tried a system restore from iTunes? Or a hard reset (holding the sleep button and the home button until you force a reboot)?

Also, i have a 2gen iPod Touch. I love it for when i run and I read my digital comics on it before i fade off to sleep at night. But for better quality, I use my 80gig Ipod video (I think it's 5th gen?). You can tell the difference in sound quality easily, as in it doesn't take overly sensitive audiophile ears to get the difference. I later looked up to see if anyone else has experienced a major difference between that generation and others, and sure enough, Apple used higher-end components for two generations. Look it up. often you can find the better ones at much cheaper prices used/refurbed.

Of course, I only have experience with iPods, but I've heard that other portable music devices have much better sound quality; this is only my experience.

Yeah...between the two of us(customer service and I) we tried everything we could think off, different computers, hard resets...rebooting everything....nothing worked.
So, the Ipod Videos have better sound? That is alright though my head unit on my car upgrades the audio and so does my receiver as well.
I guess it is only through my headphones....that I would notice the difference.

I've read a lot of your posts in other threads and there always seems to be a $$$$ theme.

I'm just relaying my truthful unhappiness with these products.

I've supplied my 4 kids with cell phones too, since 2002, and they have not broken even one of them. Most of their phones have lasted past the 2 year period after which a new phone is available at low to zero cost.

I also provide autos and education, and they've not taken advantage of either, keeping auto maintenance costs low and grades extremely high with scholarships and Dean's lists in the mix.

And just in case you think so little of me, all 4 work, contributing as they can.

The OP said it; "Ipods Suck", and I'll leave it at that.

There was no way from your original post to indicate that these are "kids" are actually young adults who have a concept of responsibility (since they driving)

Sounds like you have raised responsible kids Greg, congrats.

Apple products are too expensive for my liking, I would have switched to another brand after the 2nd time one died. I'm not throwing away hard earned money on a "name" once it has shown itself to be unreliable.
