Which one? The BP05 w/ spare head? Not much. I'd be ready to let it go sometime this winter. How's about $250 gets you the block, two heads, a transmission, and all BP-specific accessories that i'll have for it? (Starter, alternator, mounts, etc etc etc) I'll want to pull the current head off first just to make sure the block is good. I drove the Escort to work today, though, and it's still making great power and runs strong.

The K8, i'd probably want $300 for, but it won't come with accessories or transmission.

Pics of the engine please when you get it. :D

I did however go back out and paint the windshield wiper holders.
I do not want to start tearing apart the engine or anything until I have the repair book and the parts.

114k on it I would rather get a new engine. The smoke is only when I rev it. But that is not until I find a new engine and can do it easily. If I can get that one off concealer404 that would be great.

10:1 odds there's nothing terminally wrong with your engine.

The head that's on my motor right now smokes pretty good upon start up, but like Inspiredsports said about the Camry, it's gotten better as time goes on. Luckily, i've got a spare head for you anyways with WAY less miles. :)

I'll get pics of the engine. It's still in the car, though. :p I won't be pulling it for a couple months.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Spray painting the wiper arms probably isnt going to last, just giving you a heads up.

That is the same paint I tried on my pick-up. It lasted maybe a year and then got real thin.

I used John Deere satin black the second time and it has looked good for about 5 years now. Much more durable. Wiper arms flex more than you think.

Update Last friday I put the capri on the road. Everything was going well until the v belt crapped out. Here is the story.

Everything today was fine up until I left from getting a snack. Left there and heard a BANG under the hood looking in my rear view to see a chunk of belt flying away. Looked down at my gauges to see my battery light on.

I was on my way to my Girlfriends so it made it ok.

After going out in her car and coming back I left and headed home. Cautiously watching my voltage gauge going down. A second BANG along with radiator fluid appeared when I was halfway home.

The explosion this time was the radiator itself which blew out a piece of itself. I had to make it home though so after checking it I set off. Driving at 50mph I made it home with steam coming out of the hood.

So now I have a belt already for the alternator however I do not have the 120 bucks for a new radiator and thermostat. That will have to wait at least a week until I have a install this coming weekend.

Thanks for dragging this up hearseman, welcome to CP!

I missed this thread the first go 'round, Nice Capri BAF, I always liked the lines on them, I have a Britsh car mag with a series III (over there, they number the changes). Lowered suspension, hopped up drivetrain, supercharger, very, very fast, 150mph top, and it handled like a scalded cat, I'll look for it.

Any updates on it so far?

WOW great deal ! That's a fun little car. I had a girlfriend a (few) years back that had on of those in Oceanside Cali. There's a bit of an awakening though if you hit grooved pavement over 70 hehe. You stole it man! Good find.
    Too much **** to list....
