Any idea what will be the best way to repair laminate peel

Hi there,
My right side RT55i's laminate's peel become "longer" week after week. It is currently exposing the yellowish color of MDF (see pic attached). The peeled laminate is become crispier once it peeled off. I realize I need to do something on it or it will "contagiously" spread to other end of the speaker. I am planning running a trip to Home Depot to buy contact cement to glue it back. Do you think it is a good idea to do so?

Or do you have any other good suggestion? Thank.

It is alittle hard to 'prescribe' based on just that picture. Has your laminate just pulled off or has it actually restracted/ shrunk? IF it it is just de-laminated, then contact cement should do the job. IF it is retracted, then IDK how to strech it back out, maybe heat it up? I am not sure.....hopefully someone else has some experience repairing that....
Let us know how it turns out.

IF it gets too bad you can replace the section.
It's a great match and a very good product. It comes in about a half dozen colors.

I think the laminate shrunk and pulled off because the end of the laminate show evidence of tear. If my guess is right, the laminate should be wrapped around the front baffle.

Hi there, thank your all for the head up, I ran to home depot trying get a pack of Elmer's contact cement but the stuff there recommended super glue because they said it is stronger than contact cement. Now I hesitate, based on my past experience, super glue can easily mess up and left stain on the cabinet.

What do you guy think? Should I stick to my original plan and go for contact cement?

About to replace the laminate, based on my observation, the laminate should be wrapped around the front baffle. If I wanted to replace it, I definitely would strip the whole vinyl of the front speaker. To do it right, I am thinking of taking out the front baffle at this point but I have no clue how to do it, do it have screws holding the front baffle to the speaker cabinet?

Super glue will not adhere well (if at all) to MDF. I'd stick with your original plan of contact cement.

Yeh, the screws in the front baffle are what hold it on. there about 8 Allen headed screws.

So is it the Black Ash Veneer that pulled back on you or the Black plastic laminate on the front baffle?

FYI: Label the wires as you take them off. (top MW, bot MW tweeter) Also the Tweeter wires come thu a hole with the brown caulking, so you have to pull on them gently until the connectors are accessible or try and reach inside to disconnect them.

It is the black plastic laminate or vinyl that peeled. I will try open the baffle today or tomorrow when I have time. Will report back when it is done.

Labeling sounds like good idea. Thanks.

The vinyl simulated grain is the laminate.

I looked up in detail my speakers last night. It seems to me the Allen screws are to hold the tweeter and woofers to a plastic "baffle". The big front baffles is attached to the other frames either by screw or glue.

I might be wrong. I will report back.

The 'big' front baffle (as you call it), ie the front face of the speaker (that has your delaminated laminate on it) is glued to the rest of the speaker box and is not removable without deconstruction.
