I have come across a Yamaha RX-V2700 for sale for $200. Good buy? I don't really need another receiver but don't want to miss out on a super buy.
Thoughts???

if its in good shape that is a great deal for a great receiver. I would snatch it up, but have the HK AVR630 w/out hdmi and I used to have a yamaha rx-v1500 (re-hdmi) which I really liked, but the hk has a few extra features and is a little warmer sounding. Some folks here think that yammies are too bright to pair with rtis, but it depends on what you like. Bottom line, this will be very comparable in features to what have now with a little different sound. What you should do is do a fellow polkie a favor and buy it and ship it to me for a small finder's fee

If it's in good shape I'd jump on it.
Yeah - I googled the heck out of it to get more info. I also appreciate the feedback I get from CP - I like to call it "Polkled". They say it has just been sitting around for a couple of years. I am going to look at it tomorrow and am trying to justify it.
I may ship it to a fellow Polkie, or replace the H/K or Denon (I think I will keep the Sunfire). We'll see. Thanks for your thoughts.7.3 HT: Sunfire TGR-3, Sunfire Series II, Mirage OMD-28, OMD-5 (x4), REL T1 (2), T2, Oppo 103D, Optoma HD8200PRO, 106" screen, SB Touch

$200 is a steal. Jump on that quick - you won't regret it. I used to have the 2600 and it was probably the best receiver I've ever owned.
Let me know if you get it and decide to sell it. I'll definitely take it.Display: Sony 42" LCD

I have Installed the RXV2700 many times and found it to have excellent power and very clear punchy sound quality. For 200.00 I would grab it myself. It's awesome.Dan

Okay, the wife put the wrong price on our company bulletin board -go figure. She was supposed to put it at $400 instead of $200 but they did say they would sell it to me for $300. Still a good deal but also delays my sub, amp, and IC upgrades.
Hmmm - told her I would let them know by the end of the day.7.3 HT: Sunfire TGR-3, Sunfire Series II, Mirage OMD-28, OMD-5 (x4), REL T1 (2), T2, Oppo 103D, Optoma HD8200PRO, 106" screen, SB Touch

I have three Yamaha's. The RXV2200, 2300 and 2500. All of them sound great with my older RT series speakers. Three hundred is a good deal on the 2700 model.Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

I pulled the trigger - got them to come down to $250. When I picked it up they also found the iPod dock - very cool.
Hooked it up to my outdoor speakers. Kind of feels like driving a Ferrari through a school zone. Sounds great - much cleaner than the Denon I had connected before.7.3 HT: Sunfire TGR-3, Sunfire Series II, Mirage OMD-28, OMD-5 (x4), REL T1 (2), T2, Oppo 103D, Optoma HD8200PRO, 106" screen, SB Touch

Great question! I have my Pioneer D409 for sale on CL. If it does not sell, then I may need to put my Denon or the Yamaha up for sale. I want to get advice on "next steps" when I host the Colorado gathering in early September.
Just like your signature - mine is also a work in progress.7.3 HT: Sunfire TGR-3, Sunfire Series II, Mirage OMD-28, OMD-5 (x4), REL T1 (2), T2, Oppo 103D, Optoma HD8200PRO, 106" screen, SB Touch

I pulled the trigger on an RX-V2700 that I found on craigslist on Friday. A very nice upgrade from my Yammie HTR 5790. It does a much better job of pushing the Maggie MG-Is. And the addition of finally having HDMI inputs into my AVR is great. Previously I ran the HDMI's into the Sharp and rca out and in to my 5790. Somehow I doubt the DACs in the Sharp are up par with the RX-V2700. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I paid $240 for it even though his original asking price was $300. Both Remotes, set-up mic, manual, etc, etc and the original box. This thing looks like it's never been used.
It's nice to see decent deals on craigslist....

Nice pick up. I had a chance to get a Yamaha RX-V1600 for $180 on EBay including shipping but didn't have the extra funds at the time. It was gone within a day of the ad going up. $240 is a steal for the 2700.Display: Sony 42" LCD
