This sounds more like sibling rivalry to me. Roommates can be a pain, too, with the chances increasing exponentially when you have more than one.

Hell when I was in college my first year I could still work 30-40 hours a week working at a grocery store selling liquor, and go to school full time and still do well in classes and could live off of that.

Yep, that is what I did for the first year or so when I moved out. Just don't let them in your house, and change the locks frequently. If your sister is anything like my brother he will take mom or dads key copy it and let himself in all the time.

I worked at Subway for a year before I moved up to Kmart, I made a living, granted my apartment was rather bare and I only had what I needed to live off, I made it. Of course it was only $425 a month with everything included except cable and internet.

Save up some cash, land a job. Any job will do for now. I mean, hey. It is a job, and money is money.

What kind of lock do you have that has installation screws on the same side as the key area? Because i can't imagine how that is designed, go buy a new door knob/lock for $15 and then she can't do anything to get in other than break it down or pick the lock.........

Most doors are simple to get through with a credit card, lock or not, unless they have a deadbolt. Especially an interior / bedroom door that probably doesn't have a big moulding / jam around it.

My favorite part of this thread is someone who's barely in his 20's and still living at home saying people don't have respect "anymore". "Back in my day, that being the early 2000's, kids had more respect."
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

My favourite part is airing dirty family laundry on Polk with the topic 'people have no respect anymore'.

2 hours later I'm still shaking my head.

Let her know it's not cool to take your stuff. I never had a lock on my door when I lived at home. Probably because there's no point in having one. They're not thieves; they're family.

    Priceless...

A strike plate works wonders for doors like this.

I've seen pics of his installs. With his knowledge, he could probably work at a car audio shop and have enough $$ for an apartment like the one above.

Thank you:D the only bad part is installs do not come steady enough to call it a full job, I can go 2 months without having even a inquiry on a install. But as I have right now I have setup

    6 370z's
    1 350z
    1 2010 Accord
    Negotiating for a lambo install
GTR Skyline at the end of the year
And a 300zx that will be featured in a magazine in 3 months so my name will probably be mentioned in there.

After that and the lambo I will see how business picks up.

Make sure you put yourself on google as a business in your area. Also make sure you put enough tags in so your business will show up when people search anything car audio related. Find a local sign shop to make a few corex yard signs that you can place in friends or families yards (go to city hall and look up local sign ordinances first). If you can not find a sign shop let me know, I can get the signs for you for between 12-18 bucks a piece, even less if you or I do the design work for you (I'll do it for no charge). Good luck man.

Also word of mouth advertising is some of the best advertising you'll get. Make things right with your customers, and you will have customers for life. So a good install equals more installs in the future.

Yes word of mouth is good. My ex-boss owns a sign shop and did next to no physical advertising. His bis. would bring around 50k a year, after he finally decided to advertise he tripled that number and it continues to grow. The only problem with word of mouth is all you ever reach is your clients friends for the most part. With the physical you reach a group that is much wider, more diverse, and with a higher potential to have greater buying power than word of mouth can provide.

One of the local mom and pop car mechanics doesn't advertise at all - most of his business comes from forum recommendations and family members who bring their cars to him. He says he is always booked and relies only on word of mouth advertising.

But you're right, with physical advertising you can reach others too. I guess both work well together.
