Velodyne SPL-1200R

I just got a Velodyne SPL-1200R and I like this sub better than my previous sub which is Epik Sentinel. I am probably going to be selling my Epik Sentinel. For music, the Velodyne is more focus and punchy I think. I wonder how much better the DD-12 perform versus SPL-1200R. Also for my subwoofer quest, my next step would be to go with DD-12, SPL-1500R or another SPL-1200R. Any suggestion? Or maybe the JL F112 or F113 if they ever come down in price for the used one.
I am just looking at my option. What do you guys think?
Oh by the way, if anyone is interested with my Epik Sentinel, send me an email. We will see if we can make some transaction.
Thanks!

Those Velo SPL's are Awesome subs for music. My 15" I had did a superb job. I found the JL Audio subs to be even better performers for a music sub. That being said, I could easily live with either one. I never heard the Velo DD models or Epik's, so can't comment on those. Having dual 12's would be lotsa fun, and could even out the bass output to accommodate for room peaks/dips. I think Pearsall has dual SPL 12's. I'm sure he'll chime in.

The DD series is a huge step up from the SPL. They have more control , power , depth , Speed , etc. As good as the SPL series are , they don't compare with the DD series. It's a whole new league.
On the JL Audio sub's , well they are simply amazing. They compare nicely with the DD series. It's a toss up dollar to dollar but I'm thinking you can't go wrong with this level of bass reproduction.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
The Velo DD series is a great sub as is the SPL series. When I was comparing the two I was in direct contact with Velodyne both on the phone & via email. I was actuall talked out of buying the DD series. The strong points of both were pointed out to me & all conversations pointed to the SPL over the DD series. Not the mention the huge difference in price!!!
Now, I never heard the DD series but I don't feel the need to. The twin SPL-1200R subs that I now have are superb in both HT & 2 channel. I won't name names but the folks I talked to were not your run of the mill employees. Pretty much up the chain so to speak. To a man they all said that they would take the SPL over the DD. I think they were right.
My twin SPL-1200R subs have found a permanent home. Pearcel,
Thanks for the comments...it certainly makes me feel more confident with the SPL and may go with the same direction like you did, which is by going dual sub. How about using the Y connector on input of the sub? I heard it gives more oomph....is that true? Do you think 2 SPL-1200R vs SPL-1500R is better?
