I just got my latest issue of Home theater July 2003. I was suprised to see the Rotel RSX 1065 as the best mid level receiver! Quote "At $1,999 it matches or surpasses the $3,999 receivers in everything but features and is now my referance receiver" Mark Fleischmann Sept 2002 HT. Again I say thanks to the Polk Club Members for the great advice! I knew the 1065 sounded awsome but after seeing the 2003 awards I know even more serious audiophiles concider this as a good reciver! I had a lot of friends tell me why didnt you buy Onkyo or Dennon your a dealer, Why buy Rotel? All I could say was I had he best advice I could get being in the middle of the ocean & not being able to demo the receiver. Like I said the Polk Club has the most help full & knowledgeable members!

    ezc,

Glad to hear you are enjoying your 1065. I really enjoy my 1055 a lot. Rotel has been getting stellar reviews lately across the board. In case you missed it, here's a great review of the Rotel seperates off of Rotel's website:

    http://www.rotel.com/introduction/pdfs/reviews/hometheater/RSP1066-RMB1075%20Supertest.pdf

Rotel gear held its own and actual did better than some of the higher priced units. Great performance / price ratio. Heck, Polk was using Rotel gear at the latest audio show...that speaks volumes in itself (read this about two weeks ago from another forum member who went).

Right now I have upgraded my interconnects to Transparent via a great deal from Mantis off the Flea Market and scored some Transparent Music Wave speaker wire off of Audiogon. I really really like the combination. It is stellar. I also have a RB 1070 power amp coming thanks to Audiogon for increased two channel performance.

Rotel, they may have some quirks, lack of features, bulky remote, but its the great sound that we ultimately enjoy and what counts the most in my book.

Keep enjoying man, you've come to the right place..

    ezc,
that is great news, indeed. Any chance of getting the review online?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Allday......when I first demo'd the rsx1065,it blew my face off.I couldn't believe how good the damn thing sounded.Really I Installed it with Dynaudio Audience speakers,a Pioneer Elite dv38a dvd,Pioneer Elite Pro720hd,Bello racks,Transparent wires, and a bunch of other gear......
The rsx1065 in my opnion is the best 2k anything.Seperates or not.For 2 chennal music and Home theater duty it simply can't be beat in that price class.

    It deserved to win
