Amp fuse question for NAD

I finally took the cover off the NAD amp that might have been fried when I had a very short power failure during a storm. There are no fuses on the outside of the housing. Under the housing, the only things that look like fuses are two black rectangular pieces marked

JOX-115F
036-1H51
36VDC
12A 250 VAC

I tried to pull one out and no luck with the amount of force I used. I don't think I have schematics...but I will start looking. I also emailed NAD.

Thanks for any advice. I really don't want to ship this thing for repairs...assuming it can be repaired.

    Hello,
It is possible those are relays, not fuses.

After taking the NAD amp to authorized repair, I came home and noticed that the B&K pre was running hot in sleep mode. I then plugged it into the main ins on my integ amp and got the same loud humming (maybe 1/4th-1/2 as loud) as I had with the NAD Amp....

ergo....it is the preamp....it is fused, but the fuse appears to be intact.

In extremely small print it says BUSS ACC 1/2a....is this a 1/2 amp fuse?

If the fuse were blown, it wouldn't deliver any signal to an amp would it? So, even a bad fuse wouldn't cause the problem I have descrobed would it?

Thanks....tomorrow I go get the amp back and my $54....

[without any disparagement of other products, the pre/pro is a B&K Ref 20. I also have a B&K AVR 207, which has had what I call leakage problems where some distorted signal goes out to one of the channels even when in sleep...it also pops fairly loud after turning on.....and this is still after paying B&K a bunch of money for repairs....so, two pieces of equipment and two somewhat similar problems] I love the sound of the B&Ks, but reliability might be an issue?

    Hey Mike,
If I understand you correctly you're getting humming sound with either amp connected to the pre-amp, correct? Is this in one channel or both? Is the humming controlled by the volume on the pre-amp?
Yes, that is a .5A fast blo fuse, but if the power indicator, on the pre-amp, is illuminated then the fuse is operating. It's probably a good idea to check the interconnect cable between the two components, they can often lead to humming.
    I hope this is helpful.
