That's right, it is only socially acceptability to make fun of Caucasians. Yeah snow, I know that's not what you are saying. I don't care what color you are, as long as you know how to speak and use at least close to English. I don't care what jokes you make, just better be able to take it in return. Insults, ridicule try being French/German?polish and Irish, your the butt of everyone's jokes. I'm not white, black, or any other color in between, I'm an American.
First off Ted what he said wasnt meant as a joke it was meant as an insult he knew when he wrote it what it was meant as and I called him on it.

I dont believe it is acceptable socially or otherwise to make fun of or insult caucasian people because of their color either to be truthful, If you look at people making jokes about the French it is other caucasians the same with the Polish etc.

If I or no one else had said nothing it would be a clear sign to the other racists out there amongst us that hey it's ok to continue with this type of behavior.

I wish I had a nickel for every joke Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy have said about whites, and they are FUNNY! I laugh every time I hear them. I think there is a huge difference between a joke involving race and racism.

That said, I have yet to hear a white comedian tell a joke about any other race(since the mid 80's) without the instant cry of racism. A classic in my mind was the Saturday Night Live skit with Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor entitled "Word Association". To me it was shocking for it's time, and it invited dialog and discussion. Today, it would never make it past the first read, much less make it on TV.

I am coming in to this debate late and have no clue what was said. If it was as bad as what it appears, I deplore it. The purpose of my comments is to say that there is only one race, and that is the human race. I see no hyphen-americans, only AMERICANS. and I would gladly shed my blood to defend my countrymen regardless of the color of their skin. We as a nation need to lighten up about race as there are far more serious threats in this world that we face, and none of them care what color you are.

Then why are you typing? just to read your own words?

As mentioned earlier what was said wasnt meant as a joke nor was it said in a comedy club or on a comedy show.

I understant that snow, and I also said that if it was as bad as it seems, it is deplorable.

The larger purpose of my comments was to point out that we need to come together as Americans and unite behind our commonalties rather than cling to those things that separate us into hyphenated catagories. Do you find fault with the sentiment or tone of my original post, or do you think I should have no thoughts about what sadly has become the tone of this thread?

If my viewpoint has merit, then what is wrong with posting it? I don't need to know what was said to have strong feelings about racism. I witnessed it first-hand with my first wife, who was black, every time I heard someone ask her what she was doing with that @#@&**% whiteboy or some other epithet directed at me.

I have had to defend my wife from verbal attacks directed at her because she is a muslim from Iran. My post reflects my view that racism needs to die and kindness and understanding are the only weapons we have to fight it.

This is why I would choose to ignore any program that exposes how Oreo's and/or Reeses Peanut Butter Cups are made. Sometimes its better to live in sweet bliss.

Then the whole thread went south with racism and such. I don't get it. Did I miss some deleted posts or something? Please explain. No I'm not being a wise guy just want to figure out what I missed. Cuz I see NOTHING that would have caused this much hulabaloo

If your main purpose of your previous post was to assist all races in coming together as americans and uniting as one then pointing out that Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy make jokes about White people and its ok then stating that you have yet to hear a white comedian tell a joke about any other race(since the mid 80's) without the instant cry of racism is an odd way of bringing the races together isnt it?

Seems like to me that is a sure fire way of seperating them further to me by pointing out the differences in how its ok to behave for one group but not the other.

My whole point to you and Ted earlier was that you and him were reffering to what was said as a joke it wasnt meant as a joke. You and him both are talking about apples while im talking about oranges.

I don't have to justify anything I say to anyone. Especially you. Kindly keep your cheap pot shots to yourself.

BTW, I find you as pathetic as everyone else involved in the brouhaha. ;)

I never formed an opinion about what was said, and pointed out clearly that I don't know or care to know. If it was as you say snow, then it is indefensible and the offender should have been banned, instantly.

Snow, All I can say is - stop crying already. My post was made as a joke. Stop trying to tell ME or anyone else that it wasn't.
Thats odd, usally when a joke is made theres a smilie indicating that it is such, Quoting Jstas with the term pathetic that sums up your feeble attempts to paint what you said as a joke and even more pathetic is that you dont even have the balls to stand by your racist beliefs online.

Jstas/John may be a pain in my arse at times but he's a man unlike you and I have to respect him for that.
