came home with some new BDs and was gonna watch one. turned on the SC-07 and BDP. SC-07 turned on as normal, but the BDP took some time to boot up. i hit the open button and nothing. did it again and it powered off. i was like WTF. this thing is brand new. only used it once to watch the Avatar. it did take some time to load the movie then. i turn it back on and hit open on the remote and it opens up. i put the disk in and hit close. it shows LOAD on the display and then shuts off again. turned it back on to get the disk out and used the good old PS3.

anyone have any ideas? i searched BDP-23fd and did not get any issue threads/post. most of them had great reviews on it.

sorry for the run on sentence, its late and im tired.

i have been reading in here, but have yet to find anything

No update needed screen will pop up. You manually check the version you have, almost every player needs/has available an update disk. You can call pioneer and they'll send you out one for free. I know there's a link for it somewhere,do a search, one of the threads has it. I bought a bdp 320 and ordered the update before the player arrived.

talked with the shop i got it from (HiFi Heaven) and they said if they had another one left they would swap it out for me and no charge. however they do have a BDP320 which they can send me or i can upgrade to a BDP09FD. i would just have to pay the difference of a WHOPPING 1399!!!!!!!!
