Wow, my brother is moving to Seattle... too bad he isn't into this stuff like me or I'd give him the advice to snap them up... maybe I'll convince him to get them for me for a wedding gift... afterall he did take a job working for the Bill Gates Foundation so I think he could swing it ;)

Looks like a great deal to me too...

I just hit up my brother to see if he'd be willing to go get them for me. He's not too far away from them, but the real trick will be convincing him to drive them out to Colorado for me. :D

Ha, it looks like he beat you to it and stole (paraphrased) the quote already! Read Cornell Young's review, under weaknesses:

    http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/srs/?reviews=1

Despite that, I'd still gladly buy them from him...

Is there a conspiracy going on here? I've seen alot of great deals in the last few weeks, but always a long way from Dallas. I've got the $$ and SWMBO's (She Who Must Be Obeyed) approval. There's just that little 4000 mile roadtrip that's holding me back...

I gotta give credit to Rod Elliot. I saw it in one of his articles at

    http://sound.westhost.com/

Check it out. Great site for DIY audio.

No, my wife is cool. She doesn't mind speakers that are taller than she is. Her attitude is, I've been doing crazy a/v stuff long before I met her. She's not a reformer, one of the reasons I married her.

One of our jokes is that I wear the pants in the family. Only 'cause she lets me.

All joking aside...my family is the most important thing in the world to me. It certainly isn't audio or any other hobby. If it involves spending family money, I involve her. We are a team and I wouldn't hide anything from her that involves our future. But it's still fun to poke fun at! :D

Bummer, it looks like I won't be able to get these 1.2's after-all. Besides the split in one of the caps, they look to be in great condition...

They are the SDA-SRS1.2's not the TL version. And the split in the cap was an easy fix with a bit of glue and 4 clamps. The sound is quite stunning, I am powering them with a Denon POA amp rated at 200 WPC into 8 Ohms. I would like a bit more power but the budget (Wife) doesn't allow it.
