LOL I am not trying to turn it into a racer by any means when I do an exhaust I am going to do the whole thing new and let a shop do it that specializes in exhaust. "If I get to that point with this car" No crazy spoilers or anything.

If I do wheels I will do these.

Those are actually pretty decent looking wheels on that car, nice choice. Also look at some of the factory Miata wheels. You can usually find them for $200 or less for the set, and some of the later ones look really nice.

As for the exhaust when you have it done, do at LEAST a 2.5" all the way back. If it were my car, i'd do a 3". Turbo cars LOVE bigass exhausts.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I'll have a spare BP motor soon if you'd be interested. 1.8 DOHC shares the same mounts and trans, should be able to dump it in pretty easily and use your existing turbo setup for some extra oomph.

Take care of the suspension and all the other little things first. Nothing worse than a car that makes power but the rest of it being a huge pile of ****.

    More info please.

    Oh... it's not the turbo.

What motor is in there? 1.6 litre DOHC? If so, i'd leave the motor alone unless you want to boost it or swap for the 1.8 DOHC BP.

As for suspension and little things...

Replace the bushings. I think ES makes a master kit for that car. Replace your endlinks, i'm sure they're shot. ES also should make some that work.

    Struts, strut mounts, and springs.

Check your control arms and make sure they aren't bent.

Check tie rods and ball joints. Replace if necessary.

Decent struts, springs, and sway bars should make for a fun ride. :)

Talked to a exhaust shop today, its one I have dealt with for a while. They recommended nothing bigger than a 2.5 for the car even with a upgraded engine. He told me to bring it in.

Tomorrow I start working on it. Change the oil put a battery in, flush the radiator, than run it. After that clean clean clean.

I wouldn't go bigger than 2.5" as long as it's naturally aspirated. But if it ever gets a turbo and the exhaust shop says that same thing, then stop listening to them.

...the GOOD ole days. When I was 16 ...in 1966.....my parents said I would never get my own car at that age. However, went to a private high school that was 20 miles away. Now, back in the "60's" 20 miles was a good distance. Guess what....my first car below.....of course I had to pay it off. $2,950.00. Went away to college with a "Greaser" car. LUVed it dearly. Mine was "Montero" red with a black vinyl roof.....remember them???
