We have a winner:
The Benchmark is actually a pretty nice standalone DAC, and I would have been happy with it....if I hadn't heard the Stello. They are pretty much the same in terms of soundstage, level of details and bass slam, but the Stello has just a tad of smoothness that makes its highs more enjoyable.
Someone bring a W4S to try it out!!_________________________________________________

I think I may have sold my CD player. The Touch does not sound as good as my Jolida but I just have not turned the Jolida on since I bought the Touch. I definitely would like to move up the food chain with a DAC. The Stello sounds like a winner but I do not have any tubes in the mix so I wonder how that would work out for me. The Music Hall may be another option. I am just starting to get into it.
As an aside I got a iTouch for free and downloaded iPeng and it is awesome to be able to control the SB Touch with the iTouch from anywhere within my wifi network.I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -

I love the squeezebox. Works great on both my DIY rigs. I have one connected directly to my 25W 6L6GC tube rig (not the best way, but works for now), and one connected to my solid state setup using p2p gainclone LM3886 with Nelson Pass B1 buffer as passive preamp. Notice the SDA-1C on the left of the rack with the gainclone :-)My journey: http://www.1414audio.com/

From just over a year ago:All you squeezebox owners please stop by and drop you audiophile cards.
Thanks.
