Seriously, I've had ALL of the non-dbs Audioquest - and I would START with Diamondback and go up from there. If you are on a budget, Sidewinders (and the like) are at the minimum going to provide solid sheilding, and a decent connection (50% of the interconnect game imo) compared to gruntball, or 'came in the box' cables.

The Diamondbacks put you at about 95% of the King Cobra, for not a lot of scratch, especially if you buy used.

    Cheers,
    Russ

It's too bad some don't get it.
There is no need for most to spend large amounts of money to get sufficiently good cables and equipment for that matter.
It is important to spend wisely otherwise you may end up in the poor house.
Don't let the hype and outlandish performance claims by some marketers cloud your judgement.

The problem X is you don't even know if it's all HYPE as you have yet to try it for yourself. So our point is let it go and let us enjoy what we do and want to do without your trolling comments. You put in your comment knowing it's just going to start a war, you have been here long enough to know this, yet you choose to step in everytime you can.. LET IT GO MAN!!!

Thank you. You know deep down that I'm right.

ummm yeah...so if Russ didn't beleive in the cables ect why the hell would he go out and buy all the non-dbs ones????? and then suggest the Diamondbacks????? they are not the cheapest and are more expensive than say the mono price you like to project in threads....

honestly he made a funny a ha ha hahahah haha, funny.

Seriously if you want to comment please go and try the cables then explain that the cables don't make a difference, ect as then you would have your proof, otherwise its just annoying.

dbs is design so that the wire is "burned in" right out of the box and keeps a constant charge on it so you don't have to go through the burn in process yourself. I have never used them as I'm a MIT guy.

    It's a 'dielectric bias system'.

    From AQ:
DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #7,126,055): All insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. When insulation is un-biased, it slows down parts of the signal differently, a big problem for very time sensitive multi-octave audio.
AudioQuests DBS creates a strong stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple nonlinear time-delays. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. The DBS packs batteries will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check.

    Cheers,
    Russ

found some good deals on some AQ Speaker wires.

now for my Monitor 70 (still waiting on UPS) would getting some AQ CV-4 or CV-8s be way over kill? i am thinkoing about getting some better front speakers down the line. all depends on the outcome of the M70s.
