As others have said, many people here are first rate; to give to others who are in need is just awesome.

    With that said

To post that your family is going without food, and follow that up with this:

“I've been selling off all kinds of stuff, but it's getting pretty close to big rig I fear. Just thinking about it gives me panic attacks. However, I'm am this close to hitting it and won't hesistate for a second when the time comes, which again is right around the corner.”

Jesus Christ man you need a reality check on what is and what is not important in life.

Um, I've been living harsh reality Russ and have been doing all kinds of scrammbling, this past week was was when the lack of food hit. As I said I have lots more things that I have sold and am selling to before I get the point of hitting my main gear. This has been discussed a couple of times between my wife and I this week and she even agrees that we may not have to go that far yet with all the other things we have to sell.

I've sold off lots of gear, just because you didn't see here in the Flea Market doesn't mean I haven't been selling gear and cables and accessories.

I appreciate you guys concern but I don't believe I went into all the details of what we've been doing to keep ourselves afloat so please stop jumping to conclusions on the rig. There's been plenty of hustling going on and selling things off going on as I right this. As I said this past week was the first where we had trouble with food.

So, You Think CP Isn't a Family!

That is the topic of the discussion and I feel that is where we should limit ourselves to, not prejudging.

No truer words have been spoken Mike. I've been hustling my **** off selling things and doing things to make money. The fellows who have given me some hell for not selling my rig are my family and I appreciate the input but no-one here knows all we've been doing to get out of this hole. Cutting lawn, house sitting, baby sitting, walking neighbors dogs, dog sitting, shoping for people, driving people around in this heat and rain who don't have cars . . the list goes on.

Keep up the good work and don't sell out until you look at the cables and see steaks in front of your eyes. :D

I sold off half of my system and most of the extras I had a few years ago during a hard time. It wasn't that bad and I have better stuff now. I kept the TT and preamp throughout it all. ;)

Joe, I didn;t mean you shouldn't have publically thanked him. I just know people do stuff for other people out of friendship, goodwill, goodness, etc. I meant I'm sure Antny wasn't looking for a pat on the back...............but he deserves one. I'm glad you posted it as well.

That has alway been in the back of my mind. I went through hard times 20 years ago worse than this and sold off everything except my TT and preamp just like you and just like you if/when the time comes to sell the rig, I'm keeping the TT and preamp again. When I did finally get back on my feet again I ended up with a rig far far better than what I originally had. As a matter of fact, in 1989 I was forced to sell of my SDA/SRSs and I got back SDA/SRS 1.2TLs so I know the drill!

That's a wonderful act of kindness. Joe, thanks for sharing.

Is your family still in need, or are you finding long-term solutions (other than selling off your possessions)?

Mike our long term solution to this is to get caught up with the debt incurred from the pancreatitis medicals bills and other things. Once we can do that, getting caught up, and there is something good in the works from my family, we will be able to live comfortably on our disability checks like we were three years ago before I got sick. We'll even be able to save money for emergencies.

    Things are looking up.

This thread is meant to show what a great family we have here at CP and to give kudos to Antny. While I appreciate the concern and well wishes that is not the intent of this thread. This isn't a poor me thread! I've been through tougher times in my life and always came out on top and better for it, the same thing is going to happen this time.

So please keep the Kudos up for Antny and feel rest assured that we are members of such an awesome club.

I humbly ask that if you wish to discuss my situation or want to wish us well or just give me an assuring pat on the rump, please do so my PM or email. I'm very grateful for all of you!

All I can say is wow! Class act isn't even strong enough or quality enough to say about Anthony. I mean wow. That's nothing short of amazing. Sure we're family in many ways but seriously? Damn.

Joe, all the best to you, your family and your future. Sure I haven't met or even talked to you but it's clear you're a stand up guy who just got kicked in the **** by today's times. "Stuff" happens to some of the best of us but only the strong face it head on, do what's needed to be done and comes out the same man as he was going in; or better. Keep looking up as the sun still shines and records still spin. Keep it up.

To the "haters" looking at the signature and judging him, that's the side of humanity that is sad. You have no idea from the original post what this man and his family are doing to stay afloat. For all you know he's donating blood as much as possible, selling everything out of his storage closet and evaluating everything in his life from top to bottom to find end's meat. It's not like he's just standing there waiting for the next payday to buy food, pay bills, etc. It's easy to judge and jump to conclusions but unless you are in his shoes or have a Jump to Conclusions mat, let the man live. He woke up this morning and he'll do it again tomorrow with blood pumping. Life is a roller coaster.
