The biggest plasma that I've heard of is 63" and you too can have one for the low low price of just over $20G's.......Zenith has theirs for $15G and is a 60" Haven't seen either one personally.........

ok lets break down the plasma tv. it is way over priced. they have a limited shelf life. i would buy a dlp rptv or a fp dlp. or maybe a lcd display they dont make them that large but if they did amigane the res. a comp can do 2000 line in a 17 in amagine if you designed a new wid card you can have like 5000 lines or beter. also plasma had burn in prety bad as bad as a rptv.

also plasma will washout as much as a rptv.

here is a idea buld a false wall to hide the tv and the mains/ audio rack.

OK let me jump right in here.

Plasma TV's are cool. They are very cool. They take up no room in your room when hung on the wall. The pic quality of most of the (Sony and Pioneer)are as good if not better in some cases then DLP and LCD loaded rptvs.

No one knows the life of a Plasma as they haven't been out long enough to test....the test of time.

Prices have come down and there's a couple of them you can get under 4 grand.

I Install plasma just about every single day.People don't want rear projection tv's clogging up there lliving space. It's just to big.

There's nothing cooler then a Pioneer Elite or Sony XBR plasma on the wall.Let me post a pic of a job I did...

American plasma prices are inflated, and the technology is lacking, in Japan they have larger than 63", and for much much much less than 20g.

Like anything. the prices willl drop in the coming years.

I still haven't seen any display that matches the true vibrance you can achieve from a good old fashioned cathode ray tube tv. front projection, rear projection, plasma, LCD, you name it.

A good flat screen tube tv beats them all in color, true hues, contrast, brightness, chroma, luminance, the truest blacks and whites.

Yeah tube tv's weigh a ton and are huge to lug around.. but in a bright room.. they display a much better picture than the other ones. Some TV displays only look good in a very dark room. How would you like to have a great looking tv that you can only watch in a totally darkend room? that would bite for sure.

In time i think the other displays will improve.. look at the huge improments in RPTV in just the past 5 yrs. Tube tv's aren't AS susceptable to burn in as some of the others are either. Leave a rptv on something for to long and wham it's ruined for the remaineder of it's life.

this is just my humble opinion. But i know i'm right. :p

Sony demoed their 61" XBR plasma at the HE2003 show and it was awsome and expected to be release this fall for over 20K. They also demoed SXRD (Sony's answer to DLP) and it looked great.

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
