This is a polk forum, and most guys here don't care for Bose so we won't be much help..

for the price they usually want i would return them assuming you paid the bose going rate, which is assumably to much for what you get..

what model though did you get? and price, i am sure someone will chime in here but some may be hecklers for fun, as they like to hassle bose owners.. all in good clean fun

We could go on for hours on why we don't like (despise) blo$e.

Do you have surrounds? You could use them there if you don't have any.

Using two sets of mains *at the exact same time* is a crime against stereo/surround sound. Somebody with better writing skills could elaborate on that.

You could return them, or use them for a computer/bedroom/basement system.

If you want to use them in the main system, you could use them for side surrounds, and use whatever your surrounds are now for rear surrounds (assuming your receiver can do 7.1)

I'm assuming you just bought them. If you told us your whole system, we could tell you what to trade them in for.

Like RS and others have chimed in, you don't want to run more than one set of speakers at a time for the same channel. It's just asking for trouble tonally, bass management, space, etc....

If you want loud, I seriously suggest you look at getting a set of speakers that are more efficient than the standard 85-91 dB/m/w.

Maybe something in the 95-101 dB/m/w would make you happier (Klipsh or similar horn model). Either that or you need more horsepower (more amps).

My choice would be to return them. :)

Having a speaker in each corner of the room, plus the two towers and the center, is not a standard surround speaker setup.

Maybe this link could help you.

    http://www.polkaudio.com/home/faqad/advice.php?article=placement

    My 7.1 setup consists of:
    Denon 3803
    Panasonic DVD
    RTi70s front
    CSi40 front center
    RTi28s side surround
    FXi30s back surround
PSW202 Subwoofer - Hey, it's my first sub!
    RCA 46" 4:3 RPTV

I'd put those Bose in the garage. :p

that would solve your problem right there.

seriously, why mix so many brands of speakers. You'll get the best more pleasing sound if you stay with one brand of speaker. Of course, if their Polk.. they'll sound better than any others out there. :D

You could put them in your local city dumpster where they originated from...just a thought. Or...On the roof when a snow storm comes. If thats wangotango he could always shove those bose speakers straight up his....

Man you guys are good. I think I said that before, but this one is real good. I picked up on it after it was pointed out. I was like, "So, all new members are Scott?", bam! What a frickin' looser! And to think I voted to give him that last chance that he didn't deserve. I'm a schmuck.
