Is there a way to make a banana plug fit more snugly in the terminal post socket? My ATI 2505 amp seems to have loose sockets compared to the Carver AV-505 I have.
HT Set up: Samsung 58" plasma, Outlaw 950 pre/pro, ATI 2505, Monitor Audio Silver series (fronts and center), AR 12" sub, Velodyne VX-10 sub, Boston Acoustic rear surrounds.

I had that problem before, so I switched to locking banana plugs and it worked out fine!

    What brand of banana plug?

You can most likely pry out the bowed pieces, if yours has the bowed type head.

I got them at monoprice. I will try prying one out and see what happens.

some of the cheaper nanners' fins tend to flatten out over time. It happened on mine GLS nanners. I replaced mine with Audioquest's bayonet and it solves the problem.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Take a pen, or something with a tapered point and push it in the middle of the connector where the sides have collapsed in on themselves. As you push in, the sides will expand outwards. Works like a charm.

Yeah, my AQ Type 4s had the same issue, but that little fix makes them just as tight as the day they were bought. ;)
