    Seem awful odd that their "calendar" didn't predict the demise of their own civilization, so how are we to take an ancient calendar and apply it to the Apocalypse, the Revelation of John, Nostrodamus, end of the world as we know it, etc.!?! :rolleyes:

    Just so everyone’s aware..the Mayan’s did NOT even predict their OWN demise. They are but of a few left. Also, there are 3 types of calenders. One is the mayan, it is the LEAST accurate of the 3. I believe the other two are Gregorian and Julian. Neither of these predict anything in 2012 and have been more accurate

    Regardless of whether you believe it's nonsense or not, all it takes is one or a few believers with faith in their date with destiny to ruin your day.     If I recall correctly, wasn't the date identified on the Mayan calender just the end of their equivalent of a millennium or something similar? Once again, if memory serves, those folks didn't have an Armageddon/Apocalypse, per se, until the conquistadors showed up and gave them smallpox.

    As far as Nostradamus, well, Judas Priest has an entire album dedicated to him, so he must be right. :D

    I'm not preparing for this non-event, but we normally have 3+ months provisions on hand to survive. It's just something we did as part of being "self sufficient"...well, to a degree.

    Thats a good thing, I do it too. You never know when there will be an event of some kind. Just imagine if tomorrow you hear of a widespread attack on the food system or for some reason transportation to your area came to a hault. It could easily be a few months before things got straighened out.

    I got a new calendar for 2012. It's got pictures of kittens.
    It ends on Dec. 31st. Maybe a plague of cats will decent upon us.

    I knew enough to know.... that I didn't really care to know him... any better... than I already did. Fraud and thievery are "qualities" I generally try to avoid. (like the plague) Also....his blind allegiance to the Grumpy Dwarf was a huge negative.
