Hello everyone, last Sunday the two tweeters from my TSi200 pair get burned, after leaving by mistake the high bands of the equalizer set at the highest level with almost all the volume open during a while. I guess clipping was present on the amplifier and... :o

Fortunatelly, the replacements (RD0768-1) are on the way. Please your suggestions about if it is a good idea to add a protection device. I've heard about polyswitch; I checked the TSi200 crossover but I didn't find any; should I add a protection polyswitch circuit? Thanks!

    Welcome to Club Polk.

There are a lot of different valued polyswitches, so finding the right value is important. Even if you were able to do so, there's no guarantee that the poly's would save the tweeters. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. What I would suggest is to toss the EQ in the trash and refrain from raising the volume level past a reasonable level.

That's good advice . . the best protection for your speakers is goood clean power and a little sense with the volume knob. Leave out the polyswitch and use your ears. Welcome to club Polk.
