Agreed, wish they would do "HeartBeat City" though I finally found a good copy of the older vinyl.2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

Rhino re-issues of Chicago's first 2 albums.
Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago II... both sound amazing on LP.
Lots of bass where required, vocals in the center and not harsh, horn section wraps around you and easy to get lost in.
Just a very pleasing time listening to both Rhino re-issues. Must haves! -
The WaxTime Direct Metal Mastering Jazz 180 gram pure virgin vinyl releases
that I have purchased at Half Price Books have been great.
Thelonious Monk:
Monk's Dream
Charles Mingus:
Mingus Ah Um
The Dave Brubeck Quartet:
Time Out (mentioned in another thread)
John Coltrane:
Blue Train
Lush Life
Miles Davis:
Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants
Jazz Track (Frantic; which has tracks from Kind of Blue Legacy Edition on it)
I picked up kind of blue in mono there as well, though not WaxTime, Columbia.
I can't say the above are the best but I'm happy! -
Sorry to jump off topic...but
Gentle Giant 'The Power and the Glory' (Alucard)
mixed by Steven Wilson is phenomenal.
Fun graphics on the DVD too!
Emerson Lake & Palmer 'Brain Salad Surgery' 3 disc set is interesting
though they don't offer a flat transfer like the Wilson remix/remasters seem to.
I find I grab disc two "the Alternate BSS" most often.

I should have mentioned that these new mixes are available in vinyl, I just didn't go that way... (to try to turn back on topic )
