Soundbar not receiving remote signals

I bought a second Soundbar, but it doesn't seem to receive/accept remote signals. I've tried the remote it came with, the remote from my first Soundbar and my universal remote. It doesn't blink or do anything. All three remotes work on the other unit. Aside from it just being a bad egg that needs to be replaced, anything else I can/should try before returning it? Thanks.

    No, that's not it. The batteries are fine -- the remotes work on the other unit, just not this one. It's definitely in the speaker unit, not the remote.
