Even though the jig that comes with my tonearm is great, it doesn't allow for all the tweeking and setup that this does;

http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/69498?store=acousticsounds&keywords=NL071210

I think $225 is a little high but I'm sure the price will come down or can be haggled down and if taken care of will last forever.

    Saw it on the Acoustic sounds website, I would love to own one! Azimuth is a very tricky thing to try to get perfect with just a magnifying glass and a mirror. Do you own a copy of Michael Fremer's 21st century vinyl? He shows how to set up azimuth just using a VOM.

    I just load up my TT and take it to SCompRacer's house when it needs serious tweaking! That Mofi geo-disc is da'bomb! It at least takes the work out of getting things close.

    I have the original Feickert. Bought it in depreciation status on the 'gon. It came in very handy with all the table/arm combinations I tried, especially for C to C with articulated armboards and/or marking for drilling.

    The Mint Best Tractor is very highly regarded for half the money. It is made for a specific combination.

    I have a friend with the Feickert and I have the same geometry arm with a Mint Best Protractor. We will use both on his table as he has two identical cartridges and headshells that we will be aligning, one with each protractor and then doing a direct comparison changing the cartridges out. His wife will keep track of which setup we start with and we should be blinded to it to make the judging more fun. A good excuse to listen critically to alot of music. I will report back on our observations.

    Haha I may be young, but I know good music when I hear it. Even if my friends say I'm **** for listening to them lol.

    I can't wait for this . . . sounds like lots of fun! One question; are the cartridges broken in? If so they have the same amount of hours on them?

    :eek::eek::eek: Do you recall . . . the last time I used those I had to lean back in my chair while clipping those teeny tiny tonearm wire clips onto to ZYX cartridge and the leg of the chair broke under my fat **** and I ripped the tonearm wire right out of the SME tonearm! My days of really going at a turntable, regretfully, are coming to an end.:(

    The cartridges have both been in his rotation for a good period of time (he actually has about 12 mounted cartridges in different headshells), but these two Supex 900s will be mounted in identical headshells.

    :eek::eek::eek::eek: Wow talk about a vinyl junkie! LOL!!!

    I remember reading about the old Suprex 900. It was IIRC a well reviewed cartridge as the early MC cartridges go. Does it have that treble peak that cursed the early MC cartridges?
