Thought I would start another pretty useless thread, feel free to join in the bitchfest about whatever may currently be chapping your A$$.

What currently irritates me to no end is people who post a FS ad without pics, I dont care if its on CL or audio forums and then state if there is interest I will post pics. WTF? How do you expect to garner much interest without pics? What im really interested in is seeing some pics so I will know if im interested dumba$$.

And no im not taking your word for it that whatever your selling is in "MINT" condition since it appears that most peoples oppinion of mint condition is different than mine especially if their selling versus buying

I would love to have some sort of magic power so I could cast some sort of evil pox on these people like having the shi*s for a month straight or something similar :p

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I fully agree with you. If a seller is actually a serious seller, he should have all details of the sale in the first post.

-Full description including specs if at all possible

-Date purchased and if previous owners

-Often price seller's is asking is not even posted

-While pics aren't full proof of the actual condition, it is definitely an asset to both seller and potential buyers. Kind of ackward statement: ''will provide pics if interested''. Is the seller actually interested in selling

I never include images for several reasons.

    1. I don't think I have a digital camera.
    2. I always forget to ask my daughter to take an image with her digital camera before I wrap the item up and put it in storage.
    3. Most of my sales are local pick-up only anyway. You can get a better look in person. It always grates me when someone on the other side of the continent posts "This thread is worthless without pictures!" regarding a local pick-up only item on this side of the continent.
    4. I limit my offers to a fairly small group of individuals (in the big scheme of things, AK and Polk aren't that big), and THINK after 10-11 years, your rep should do a lot of talking. I know what a scratch looks like, and if I say it ain't got any, it ain't got any.
    5. I give away the money I make selling the stuff. If it sells it sells, if it don't, it don't.
    6. I have put people on my Ignore List for asking for images of things they are close enough to gaze upon in person.

    Good points.

George you are an exception to the rule because you dont ship and because if you say it is mint its most likely never seen the light of day.

I look up and here's this dude with his shorts up to his chest (no joke) just eyein' me like I did something to wrong him...like I stole his cat and burned it alive or something...

maybe he just need a motivation of some sort....guess a short fat gnome works for him to get "pumped up" :p

I'm especially tired of some of the latest Craigslist listings where they just say "Polk Speakers for sale" and a price--That's it-usually no pics, and certainly no model # listed--As if Polk only ever made one model.

That is certainly a widespread problem, and if they do post a pic or two it's usually a cell phone pic so bad that the lens looked lt must have had recently been dropped in a bucket of mud, and when you do finally make contact they tell you that the speakers are at their grandmas house or something and they will call you back with a model # but never do.

I really get pissed off when I watch a chick flick... I mean they are ALL exactly the same and it doesn't matter what century they were made in. Sometimes I would just like to see the 'loving" couple get run over by a bus at the end of the flick. I would rather be on the loosing end of Dirty Harry's Smith&Wesson 44 automag than sit through another useless chick flick.

I feel your pain. I like to look at horns on CL and sometimes people will just say thing like "Tenor Saxophone" and after clicking on the like the description says "Call me if you are interested," and of course there is no picture. How hard is it to look at the instrument and read the name off it? I think people are just so damn lazy.

No pictures? Gee, there's a lot of CL ads where it just says speakers, no brand
or model number. Same with amps, tools, ETC. And they keeep posting it, over and over hoping they'll get a response.
I put in an ad for speaker stands with pics, model number, links.
and give all the specs in case they're too stupid to google.
First guy that shows up says "gee, I thought they were taller" and leaves.
    Too stupid for words.

Audio sale listings that wax poetic about the piece but...........

If it has tubes, they don't say how many of what it uses

If it is a power amp/integrated, etc they don't tell you the wattage

Any piece of gear that the seller describes in a sentence or two.

Or the best one is not evening stating what it is...............like we are all supposed to know what it is by a model number

Nice, looks and sounds great <
