    A helpful hint... not sure if you know this but I need an electron mircroscope to make out the details on this pre :p

    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    I have the set with the 200 wpc amp and the tuner. This is a very good pre-amp with a very nice sounding phono pre that does BOTH MM and MC (switchable). I use these to run a pair of 2.3tis in the guest beroom and it sounds great. Somebody buy this thing - you will be happy.
