ok,,,,,, well,,, I am sorry you feel that way. That sir, is your choice, not mine.

This is a poll, not a debate. Please refer to the OP.

Dangerboys' high post count would mean to me that he is a good resource of this forum, been there done that got the t-shirt kind of thing. My bad. What is your definition of participation, to speak for dangerboy?

I am sorry dangerboy that I have offended you in any way. Hearingimpared states that I have done this. Therefore, I sincerely apologise** for my unkind actions towards you.

I can guarantee*** it will never happen again.

I will have no more of this.

Good Night Gentlemen, and Good Night to All. May everybody have a GREAT Friday!

Easy does it there Bro. This is the internet and it can be very difficult to ascertain where one is coming from with the written word.

Your couple of few posts to Al seemed like unwarranted attacks on him to me and me being a friend of his for atleast four years didn't sit well with me.

If I misinterpreted your posts, I apologize. BTW I don't recall stating that you've offended Al.

However you now can see how tight knit this group of awesome members on this forum can be. I never saw you out-of-line before and have found you to be a good contributing member here.

It's all good Bro. We are all here to have fun, learn, debate, help each other etc., etc and because we all have one big thing in common . . . . our love of music and this hobby not to mention our love of Polk Audio products.

Let it go for I certainly will as I make it a point in my life to try not to hold grudges as they only hurt me.

I'll second that. I remember walking into my local audio store(before BB & Circuit city) They had a set of SRS and I loved the sound but NOT the price. I bought the Sony ES CD player they had and walked across the street to the other audio store and bought my Carver TFM25 and C16pre. I still have them to this day. This shop also had RTA 11's I also like those and still could not afford them if I was going to have the gear I just bought. I have moved up a bit I now have a TFM45 still have the Sony ES X33 CD player as well to go with my SDA 1 signature's and SDA 2a's....ahhh life is sweet that way
By the way just turned 45 in May...still looking to get some SRS's though:D

TL'd SDA 2B's aren't much bigger than the Monitors in your signature. You should be able to sway your significant other into a switch.

Bragging rights are nice from time to time, but you can enjoy the actual sound every day! :)

Exactly right, especially if the monitors are up on stands. (as they should be);)

    35. Bought my first pair of SDA's at 34 and my second pair at 35. Makes me happy to know that I will have enjoyed SDA's for 10 years before I hit the height of the bell curve. :D I try not to think about all of the years I wasted listening to non-SDA speakers.......

I remember seeing the "out of reach" SDA line way back when (I think it was at a long-out-of-biz place called Square Deal?), but I am ashamed to admit my first experience really listening to a pair was at Lasareaths house a few years ago :o.

For the record, I fall right into the 46 group... for now!
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

My dad bought his SDA 2.3's when I was 9 years old. I am 29 now and enjoying my own pair of 2A's. Hopefully I will have a son someday to pass on the SDA love to.

I'm 44. From 84-85 I worked for Technics/Panasonic at the Mainz Kastel audio club in Germany just after high school (went to Wiesbaden). We had demo rooms for every company imaginable. Sometimes it was hard to find me because I was hiding out in the Polk/NAD room drooling over the Polk line. I had the opportunity to purchase the SDA-SRSs at cost, but didn't have the money. Was looking at going to college and joked if I'd had them I'd sleep on top of them as my bed in the small dorm room I'd live in.

Flash forward to 2009, I was feeling a bit nostalgic and thought I'd see if there was anything listed on-line about the speakers. Found this site and went bonkers. Three months later I owned a pair of 2As, 1Cs and 1.2tls.

Any of you military guys out there stationed in Germany around 84/85? If you visited the Mainz Kastel audio club and purchased Technics/Panasonic there's a good chance I sold it to you. My last year, I also worked at the Frankfurt audio club. I sold tons of VCRs, SL-1210 MkII TTs and TVs. During my AF career I've run in to quite a few people I can be certain I crossed paths with.

I think the reason why more than anything else that you see the largest age group that you do owning SDA's is that back in the day when they were first introduced there was literally nothing even close that sounded as good for the money and we were impressed and as time went on even though we may not have been able to afford them then we can now and do. I remember at my local audio shop hearing SDA's in the mid to late 80's and I was impresed so some 20 or so years later when I seen a pair for sale I grabbed em.

I think if you were to take a poll of LSI owners that the largest age group would drop dramatically by at least 10 years.

It seems to me that if you were to take a poll of Carver owners you would find that most are also 40 years of age or older also and for the same reason as with the Polks.

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
