Steely Dan has a new cd released today, Everything Must
go. You can listen to it at www.steelydan.com.
They're releasing it on dvd-audio today also and I'll
be buying the dvd-audio. Can't wait to hear this
in surround! I'm also picking up the new Radiohead cd.
Anyone else going for the Dan?

I thought about it. I like using it for demo music. And it's just groovy too!

bought this at CC today, DVD-A at $14.99

Any HBO-Taxicab Confessions fans can go here for a treat:

btw, listening to this album right now, recording quality on 5.1 DVD-A discrete is top notch! instruments solo coming out from the surrounds, marvelous!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I had some time listening to this cd. On track 4:godwhacker, the use of multichannels is very nicely done! One of the best DVD-A that I owned, in terms of recording quality. Hell, it's even better than most of my SACD multichannel collection. It's a definite must buy for folks that would like to demo/enjoy their multichannel player, as fireshoes said. fire, I have no doubt you would score some sales using this cd to demo. Overall, I would vote for this album over "Two Against Nature"

Thanks for the info, I'll be picking it up this weekend. I listened to
Fagen's dvd audio of the Nightfly last night and it's great too.
What other dvd audios do you recommend?
    Thanks, Mike

Nightfly is great too! I have Gaucho (DTS) that I would recommend, Big Phat Band "Swingin' for the fences" (if you like jazz/swing).

I'm a SD fan from way back. I'll check it out in DVD-A. Thanks for the recommendation.

Can I play a DVD-A disk on my standard DVD player (Toshiba 2705)?

    rightfoot,
there is no such thing as dumb question...yes, you can play any dvd-a material on your Toshiba changer, but you will not be able to hear DVD-Audio since yours is not a dvd-a player. However, you could still hear 5.1 audio by selecting DTS audio (if the DVD has DTS logo such as this SD-EMG) but do make sure you are utilizing your digital coax or optical connection from the player to the receiver. Hope it helps!
