Rant ON!!!
This happened several days ago:mad:...

http://www.pnj.com/article/20100706/NEWS01/7060321

The question I have is why was he allowed back into the NFL in the first place. His pattern of behavior would suggest there is no regret for his past actions and the fact he is still running with the same thuggish crowd leads me to conclude his remorse is phony as well.

When will professional sports wise up and hold their mega-million dollar atheletes to the same standards of conduct us mere mortals are held to? And if they won't, when will there be laws that insist that they do?

Good Lord! How stupid can one man be or is it how arrogant can one man be? I'm sure one of the terms of his probation was that he is not to associate with or even be in the same vacinity as known criminals especially his past crew.

The fact that the surveillance cameras show he left before the shooting means nothing. He was in the presence of known criminals or so the article says. What a dope!

Stupidity or arrogance or both! I hope for his sake that none of the above is the case.

I don't get why people are freaking out about this. The guy wasn't involved, and he wasn't there when it happened.

I seriously doubt his probation prohibits him from being in the vacinity of 'bad people' or whatever Joe is saying. If he wasn't around to be around the thuggish crowd or people of a questionable nature, then he couldn't even take the field on any given Sunday because there are plenty of thugs on the field at any time.

The guy has screwed up before, but let's allow the ACTUAL facts to surface on this incident before we all comdemn this guy to hell

I agree....This happened right here in my hometown, the local news is saying Vick was long gone according to video footage from the party. He just needs to settle the eff down and stay at home. :p

Thus my statement bolded above. It's typical for terms of probation, when released from prison, to prohibit the socializing, associating or being in the area of known felons (criminals) or the old acquaintances involved in illegal activities.

I certainly am waiting for more information to surface but I still think that he is a dope for allowing himself to be in the presence of thugs perceived, real or otherwise and allowing himself to be put in a position where the media can make a stink about who he is socializing with. IMHO they or at least some of the attendees are criminals . . . who else goes around shooting people?

Unfortunately once the media starts to hype up an incident, the targe of their hype becomes, in the public's eye, guilty until proven inocent especially when it involves a high profile person who has been convicted of crimes. It's not right but it is a fact of life here and abroad.

The latest I have found is that the video contradicts his statements... I am not forming my opinions based soley on this one incident, but rather on a pattern of behavior that has gone on for far to long. It saddens me to see him go back to his old habits, but as the saying goes... you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'em drink.

If he wants to throw away his life and his career by being stupid, that's his call. He should however, not be given the enormous visibility of being an NFL star as a platform from which to do it.

You are 100% correct Joe....his judgement was seriously impared when he decided to visit ths club known to have had shootouts, stabbings etc..and the Va Beach police get called to this place every weekend to boot. He's really not a very smart man.

Its not that uncommon while on probation to not be around known criminals.

There's thousands of other professional athletes that manage to stay away from shootings, period. Now I'm not saying if you were around, you're automatically connected...what I am saying is that a reasonably intelligent person, 99% of the time, wouldnt have ever been there, period. Even if he left 4 minutes before.

Oh, and I hope Vick got condemned to hell along time ago. Wouldnt bother me one bit if he was nearly electrocuted to death in a bucket of water and buried alive.

That might be a tad extreme. What he did to those dog's was indespicable and he obviously isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but IMHO a human life is a very valuable thing.:)

Completely disagree. Vick's life has no value and is a waste of perfectly good oxygen. With that said, I agree with exalted completely BUT the article seems to be a not retarded. The guy had a party for his 30th. Nothing wrong. He had said it was all white, guessing to say not his old thug crowd. Nothing wrong. He leaves and then someone gets shot. Nothing wrong. For all we know, some old friend came to the party and caused a scene because they wouldn't let him in and then it escalated into getting shot. Don't get me wrong, Vick is número uno on my "should be killed for the better of humanity," but I don't see where he's in any sort of wrong now. Sounds like the media is spinning what happened into something worth talking about. Sorry, don't care.

And like I said, there's a small chance he was doing nothing wrong...but in all honesty, given his track record and the scenario...I don't really give him the benefit of the doubt.

Now maybe he left because things were getting dicey.

Humans are different than most animals because they are compassionate, among other things. He obviously isn't and I would spare a fly buzzing in my ear in my house before I would him. There's a special place in hell for child molesters and people that are cruel to. Animals...he'll be there someday. And I have no complaints if it's sooner rather than later.

Why? He gave him a second chance. Let me put this out their...I dont like Vick, I think he was a real **** for doing what he did to those animals.

Now, we (the public) praise football players for bashing each others heads in every Sunday, (in a very violent sport) not just the NFL or College level either, then we gasp in horror when they do something stupid, like take steroids or kill someone or animals in this case......to me, it just dosent surprise me anymore and there is no shock as to what may happen next. There are some details left out of this article including that it was part of his probation, in fact, that he not associate with the victim of the shooting. It has been reported that during the party, the shooting victim and Vick got into a verbal altercation after he smeared cake in Vick's face. The circumstances are what they are - it is a guy who has learned nothing from his second and third chances. The Eagles will somehow be held hostage by the players union if they try to release Vick before the legal process plays out. They should be allowed to cut ties with this chump and be repaid his signing bonus, but the collective bargaining agreement does not allow them to do so. In my opinion, that is part of the problem.
