I recieved this 6SN7 based linestage three days ago from Bill Baker @ Response Audio, it uses a toroidal transformer with big metalized poly caps in the power supply and Fairchild ultra fast soft recovery diodes in the rectifier bridge. the signal path uses Clarity caps bypassed with V-Cap teflons.there are no electrolytic capacitors used anywhere in this preamplifier. all input and output RCA's are Cardas and the stepped volume control uses 1% Dale/Vishay resistors. all internal wiring is solid copper/teflon.i ordered it with three sets of inputs and two sets of outputs.Bill put pictures of my preamplifier on the Audiocirle and here is one of them
Bill does beautiful work in wood but i opted for a basic Aluminum Chassis . Bill said he had 100 hrs on the caps after he built it and i have about 30 hrs on it so the V-caps will require several hundred more hrs to fully settle in. it sounds very sweet already. life is good....WCW III

Expect the V-Caps to take about 400 hours to settle.

the wooden Basis plus retails for just under 2 grand and the upgraded internal wiring and V-Cap bypass which are standard in the Basis Silver Extreme were added to mine at my request and were done at additional cost. I bought mine while Bill was running a sale last month. i believe i have around $1500.00 in itVery nice. How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking.
I had .22uf V-caps in a BAT VK60 in the coupling positions and it took a little over 400 hrs to settle inExpect the V-Caps to take about 400 hours to settle.
