Well, my Oppo BDP 83SE stopped outputting any video at all, nothing:mad: The only reset I see is in the menu....can't get that to work either. Since I have no video output, the only thing I can see is the front display on the Oppo. I can get it to show "setup menu" but nothing else.

Anyone have this happen to them?? Any ideas??

Long week-end and can't watch movies...I can listen to them:eek:

You could try reloading the firmware - maybe it got corrupted.

Do you have the latest from the Oppo website downloaded to a USB thumbdrive?

Have you tried swapping out your HDMI cable? It's a long shot I know but you never know..

It may sound silly but unplug it from the wall wait 30 secs and plug it back in.

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I am using component video cables, doubt all three would go out at once??

    Yep...tried that.

I can't seem to find a way to do a hard reset, but the firmware change did nothing either...I guess I will have to wait and send it back...

Press and hold the DISPLAY button for 10-15 seconds. When you release it, it should reset your video options to their defaults. That might get you going again. If it does, install the latest firmware, then do the reset to defaults in the menu, then clear persistent storage and plug in all your video options again.

That sucks, man. Shoot Oppo a message. They're pretty quick to respond.
