OK Ok, sorry about all this. I own some forums and am a member of several but this has to be the worse thrashing on a new guy that I have seen for a simple mistake.

I was here just looking for a little advice and info about the speakers-All I know is that I listen to them.

Again my apologies. take the post down if need be.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Well the entire discussion about the accidental mis-use of the forum feels like a thrashing to me
Possibly you don't take it as that because you are a regular but I feel that way.

Catch you all in another lifetime.

After the 3rd post the entire discussion centered on other members and CP and its rules and lack of enforcement of those rules. If you feel mistreated because of this then all of lifes "real" problems must be overwhelming for you. Stick around and be a part of this forum and you will understand why some of us are protective of the rules here.

That's odd because nowhere in your first post is there anything about wanting advice or info about your speakers, nowhere.
Unfortunately I found it because I am going to sell all of my SDA's

    I have a pair of 1.2's and a pair of 3.1's.

In the next few days I'll get them on Craig's list but I thought I'd give a heads up here before I did.

I bought them new and really have only used them for occasional listening.

I think there should be a thread for newbies to post stuff for sale, without ratings. If it promotes US club polk members find more gear that we never would have found, than Im all for it! Continue to have our FS thread with our ratings, to promote sale items between members. Just my common .02 cents worth :)
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

That is what CL and Ebay is for. CP is not setup or designed to be a dumping ground for people to sell their crap nor IMHO should it be, trust me if there is a set of SDA's on CL it will be posted in a matter of hours if not minutes in the proper area, if you are looking for a set of them you yourself will be checking in your area it isnt like these speakers would have went un noticed.

The fellow that had these for sale had and has no interest in CP his sole purpose was to hawk his crap here without following the rules. He claimed he bought these new and in all that time never bothered to join and then claims he got beat up for doing so  The problem is two fold as far as im concerned we have members that have been here for years adding to the problem by inquiring about them openly then we have moderators that ignore it. What the hell good are rules if CP isnt going to follow their own rules or enforce them?

I know these are big enough that they wont be shipped and so it has to be a face to face sale so no one gets ripped off and even if they did well it's their fault for buying from a newbie. That isnt the point nor is it a valid reason for this thread to still be here.

Someday one of you greedy f*ckers will get robbed at gunpoint or something similar responding to a for sale thread by an unknown and then perhaps the rules will be enforced.

    +1, SNOW,

And no you haven't been roughed up, but 'politiely' informed about the rules. So relax. In fact, do a search and take a look at some threads where people were trashed for no good reason. We've been trying to clean that up around here so that new posters (like yourself) can feel more welcomed and less bullied by older members. And so far, I think things look pretty good....even in this thread...the 'rules' are a tool for keeping things civil and also 'safe' for sellers and buyers.

Nobody's trashing you but as mentioned, people that has been on this board for long enough and KNOWING the rule kept it going even after the rules were mentioned. Personnally, you are not the problem but they are and as far as I am concerned they should have been issued warnings by CP but, who am I?

Than you turn this place as another CL or eBay and it defeats the purpose of CP. That I know of, the main goal for CP isn't for selling vintage speakers. I don't use and care much for the FS forum as in most cases it isn't practical for me being in Canada but let me ask you this question; Do you feel safer buying from CP FS forum than CL or eBay and if so, wouldn't you want to keep it that way? How good is it for the community and for Polk if some new member sells his speakers and then leave? OK, enough preaching ! ;)

Ok, we'll all just do a restart here. I will be replacing with Polks so I may as well stay.
