Never knew this forum was here until I found it through Google.

Unfortunately I found it because I am going to sell all of my SDA's

I have a pair of 1.2's and a pair of 3.1's.

In the next few days I'll get them on Craig's list but I thought I'd give a heads up here before I did.

I bought them new and really have only used them for occasional listening.

I have to get my act together. My main job is jewelry, I have never posted to Craig's list but thanks to one of you nice guys, I know what and how to post.

I never realized the potential of these speakers they have sat in a enclosed entertainment center their whole lives.

Now the new place? It sucks-Drywall, Ceramic tile floors all hard surfaces but our house is on our own 80 acre lake set in 2,000 acres of woodland. Guess no sympathy on that one :)

Threads like this and some of the responses are a prime example of why we have the rules for selling that we do. It should have ended at post #3. Bad juju will be visiting some of you.

This is not the first time such thread has been started (even since FS rules were revised) but there seems to be double standard (either OP or what he has to offer is liked) and the rules are simply ignored even by regular posters. If at least they had the decency to move behind the scene (PM or email that is). What's the point of going by the rules if there are double standard?

All partys involved should get a warning at least, old timers should be banned for a month minimum that would put a stop to this crap quickly.

What's the sense, I reported similar not so long ago and it was never closed. What gets me is NOT the OPs but rather long time posters that knows better which ask for more details (if at least they were doing so behind the scene). Afterall, wasn't tighter rules requested for the FS by the majority?

WTF???????????? On his second post he said he was moving them to craigslist after he had been told the rules( a lot of people don't even think to look at the rule when they join anything on the net). Now it is on to another topic so what's the deal??????

Uh, really? The sale has now been taken completely offline, outside of the forums. Polk no longer has any liability if either party gets screwed over... sooo... what's the problem?

The OP came here to let us know he was selling speakers. Did NOT try to sell them on the board, especially after being told of the rules. A separate CP member opted to contact him about these speakers, and then rest is outside the board.

I honestly don't see the problem here. There wasn't even a link to a CL listing?
    Ludicrous gibs!

I guess if you cant figure it out for yourself then me explaining it in detail wouldndt help, either you get it or you dont but I will try.

First off this isnt the place to sell your items or to let people know that your attempting to sell your items in some other venue CL ebay etc.

Rule #1 states... 1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. (Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed) Obviously this thread is still here, by allowing it to remain CP is breaking it's own rules.

Polk has zero liability for any item bought or sold in the Flea Market...hello.

The problem is with self promotion outside of the Flea Market.
So I guess we shouldn't have the "Looking for SDA" section in the wanted ads.

Why not? The info/links posted there are not self promotion. Hence, the use of the term, "No affiliation."

No that is the proper place to put CL items Ebay items etc that are "3rd party items" not items that you the OP have for sale. By telling the world here that you have an item/s for sale in this forum you are circumventing the entire reason to have a FM area and the 100 post rule, and by members asking the OP in this forum where his items are at further demeans the entire process. Why bother even having a FM area with a 100 post minimum if all you have to do to avoid it is say im a new member and im selling my crap in other areas of the board? And by CP allowing this thread to remain here defeats the whole purpose of having a FM area and as mentioned earlier encourages people to do so and is breaking their own rules.

I'm not bent out of shape....well, I was trying to get out of bed this morning, but it's like that every morning. The 'ol bones don't want to move like they use to. I digress.

You've been around long enough to know how things work here and that we self police.

This area being used by new members to advertise their items for sale has been a bone of contention for years. Not only have they been allowed to do so but old timers once they complained about have been spanked for being rude by voicing their displeasure.

One case in particular comes to mind back when there was a 25 post minimum to post in the FM area a newcomer posted here, he was promptly told this wasnt the place to sell. Not only was the thread not taken down his responses in the lengthy battle that ensued counted to his 25 posts needed and he listed it in the FM area with posts that he had gotten here and at least one of the old timers involved got a warning for doing the right thing.

CP ought to be ashamed, actually I am ashamed for them :p
