Probably the best series movies ever made as far as all the same actors and exact time frames. You start where you left off and all that perfectly. Love it.

How do these re-releases compare to modern movies shot on higher definition cameras?

Film, being an analog medium, has more potential resolution than current high def cameras 'limited' to a set digital pixel count. However, it also has all the grain structure (both intended and unintended by the director), dust, specks, deterioration of the original film elements, etc.

So older movies can look quite stellar on blu-ray provided they're restored and remastered properly (takes time and money that studios don't always want to spend).

Great Scott! Though the original is older than myself it is still a great movie. Should be something to add to netflix.
