Dammit har.....why must you torture the poor souls in here that are financially strapped down right now....why,why, I ask you to tell me why?:D Am I ever gonna have some more sdas......yes I am, 20 years from now when all of the kids are off on their own or I win the lottery which ever comes first.

"Hey big man let me hold a dollar" -
Why?
I spent a lot of time looking for replacement SL3000 tweeters
for the 2.3TL's. I've ben looking for almost a year and half, every second, minute, hour, a day looking at ebay, clubpolk FLEA MARKET, to replace 4 SL3000's and 2 MW6503's. Now that everything has been replaced, due to all my efforts and to my patience, I can't let these go for less than what I purchased. I really don't want to sell it but because the wife wants to sell the speakers, that's why.
If you remember the 2-SL3000's that I got it from AXEMAN(Joe)
and 2-SL3000 from ebay and that took years to look for.
Still, to this day no speaker can compare to the
quality and performance (SDA's TL version) of this model not even the LSi line.
These are no cheap speakers, they are VINTAGE!!!
a collector item.
About the RTA 11TL's, I can only let these babies go if my cuz
comes up here to pick it up:) I won't actually sell this to anybody because it is reserved to my cuz;)

I'm confused.
First you said it was a package deal. But then you said you will never sell the 11TL's because they are reserved to your cuz.
A question on the SDA SRS 2.3 TL. I take it you are not the original owner since you had to replace four tweets and two mid drivers. Were they blown or otherwise damaged when you got them?
And if you aren't selling the 11 TL's as part of the package, can we infer you will sell the 2.3 TL's separately?
How does the SL3000 timbre match with the tri-lam?
Do you honestly believe the 2.3 TL outperforms the LSi15, and if so, in what regard (imaging, detail, etc.).

Doc
Doc,
My experiences with the LSi series echos Har's.
I have a pair of LSi15s that I use as surround speakers in my HT rig. I considered buying another pair of LSi15s to replace the SDA 1Bs that I use in my master bedroom system. I really liked the looks of the LSi15, but compared to my SDA 1Bs, they were not as satisfying with regard to bass performance and imaging.
I also posted a comparison of the LSi15 to my SDA 1Cs. You can read it here.
You can read my thoughts on the LSi9 vs. SDA CRS+ here.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
Doc,
I have the 2.3TL's and compared to the LSi25's that I got a demo on, the only thing I thought sounded better was the vocals on the LSi's. Since I upgraded my source to a XA777ES I would now say that the 2.3TL's blow the LSi's out of the water in every area.Political Correctness'.........defined

Sorry for that paragraph I shouldn't have written that sentence. I wanted to edit that when I woke up but it was too late. I wrote that bet 12:45 to 1:30 A.M. and I was too sleepy at that time.A question on the SDA SRS 2.3 TL. Yes I am not the Original Owner. When I got them they are not as good as
they are now. I replaced those parts with the same as the Original replacement.
It took me more than a year in finding the right replacements. And if you aren't selling the 11 TL's as part of the package, can we infer you will sell the 2.3 TL's separately?
Maybe...How does the SL3000 timbre match with the tri-lam?
What do you mean... SL3000 timbre match SL3000 also OR SL3000 timbre match RT line tri-lam? -

This what the one I meant. If I replaced the RT800i with the 2.3 TLs, would the difference in timbre be noticeable for HT panning effects.

In my comparison only the RT line Trilaminate Dome SL6501 will matches the SL3000 tweets. These are the RT 7 and the
RT 16's of course that includes also the SRT systems.

Raife, F1, Har - thanks for your input. All provided information and hotlinks were helpful.
I've been toying with the idea of a mains upgrade for critical 2 channel, etc.
Not that I find the 800's lacking in any manner (except deep bass extension, and the sub fixes that). But since my upgrades to the 3803, the 2900, the M1.4's, and the Signal Cable, my rig sounds so much better for music, I can't help but wonder what a mains upgrade could also do for me.
I know the 3803 and the RTxxi sound fabulous together, but I doubt the 3803 has enough **** to power the 2.3's adequately. They look like a 300 WPC speaker to me - that's a lot of VCs to power.
And unless I use an external amp, LSi is out of the question, and it won't timbre match with the RTxxi series anyway. That's why I was wondering about the timbre match between the 2.3 tweet and the RTxxi tweet. I won't be replacing the rest of my rig for HT - it really excels in that respect and any mains upgrade will have to timbre match with the rest of my rig.
The 2.3 TL's are also very wide, and would not fit in my front stage easily. My 800's are squeezed in as it is.
Oh well.......worth some thought anyway. Thanks.
