It is unfortunate for the ref to blow this call with few minutes left in the game after a huge comeback. If people in U.S cared, this would have been as big of news as the blown perfect game a few weeks ago. The confusion about what the call even was is proof how much **** this call was, first every thought he meant offside, now its an infringement (both didn't occur)
I enjoy the world cup just because its the biggest sporting event in the world, but I'm surprised it is cause IMO there are huge flaws to the game. Yes, it can be boring, but so could any other sport if everyone plays tight defense. First, A GAME(OR CHAMPIONSHIP) SHOULD NOT BE WON ON PENALTY KICKS! Me being a relative youngster, 2006 WC was a complete shocker when I saw it went into penalty kicks. It has nothing to do with the play of the game. How about if the superbowl was won by seeing who can kick the most field goals.. Ok maybe not a good comparison but still utterly ridiculous. And yes, I know the games would take forever but look at the NHL or NBA playoffs, does anyone complain when games go 3OT? Of course not.
Also, try to fix offsides, maybe make a line or something. I always hated the idea the other team can choose where you can go. And the diving uhhh diving!. How many times do you see when someone gets touched, their hands fly up and then roll on the ground for two minutes. Then they get up and play like nothing happened... Makes me sick.

Wednesday games would be very exciting! Both the US and England (Group C final games) will be broadcasted simultaneously at 7AM PST/10EST on both ESPN/ESPN2. I wish I still have cable PIP TV and not DTV.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -

Good to see that yesterday's injustice made it to the front page in newspapers coast to coast. The good news is the dream is still alive. The US team really need to pickup the pace on Wednesday, for sure.
I think getting robbed like that will motivate them. Plus, I think people not interested pick up the chant whenever there's a controversy like that, and maybe they get sucked in and start to appreciate the beauty and skill of the game.
The Algerians are very athletic though. They all look like they pump iron. Also the fitness level of both teams will start to factor by the 3rd game for everyone.
I remember last year the U.S. getting embarrassed in South Africa by Brazil and Italy at the Confederations Cup. 3rd game, they found an extra gear and just hammered the Egyptians and got into the semi's by goal difference. Then they shocked Spain and gave Brazil a good scare. I hope they find that reserve tank again.
