So I've seen a few threads referencing a thread at the AK forums and I cheched them out since I have at least 3 frozen drivers. I'll give out props and all that later but for now....

WOOOHOOO!!
Following the general techniques mentioned, I built my own jig and so far was successful unfreezing a driver (1st test with a MW6502) and playing music through it--Wooo Hooo!!:D:cool::D.
I didn't glue it yet, but proof of concept is there.

Anyway I have to go eat dinner right now--
I'll post more pics, materials used, and steps later:

He didn't invent it, besides I don't think you can patent something that's in the public domain.

Yep, I didn't invent it--I said that I'd give out props and all that (credit) later, but I got sidetracked with life and didn't have time to put it all together yet; I was just excited about it so I posted what I had so far.

I didn't find the info I found all that clear (at least not to me, esp with following looping links and all that) so I was going to put together my own tutorial, here on CP, on how to make them with some minor modifications (no need to cut the dust cover; using thumb screws instead of bolts, etc), along with more detail about the making of the jig and the actual repair process from start to finish. I'm still planning on doing this as soon as I get the time to do it right---I'll be stuck home from work for a few weeks soon so hopefully I'll be able to catch up on all of my audio projects.
