Don't worry, it's work safe!

This is China.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QESfEd180rQ&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QESfEd180rQ&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1&quot; type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

It's simply stunning. What are these people looking at and why, when presented with an impending impact do they seemingly do nothing? BTW, these aren't slowed down. These are real speeds and all of these were likely avoidable.

With traffic like that, you'd think crash standards would be higher. Helmets would be a necessity there I think.

Oh and around 2:00 in the video, what is that dude looking at that he has to be standing in the middle of the road? Furthermore, what was the driver thinking/doing when it occurred?

What is odd to me is how most of the people on bulks and such just pop right up like no bog deal. Is it really that common an occurence that it's no big deal?

I read some where a while back that traffic accidents in China are a MAJOR problem and result in a lot of fatalities. Can't remember the details as I read the article a while back.

looks like they needs to discover the 4 way stop none of the those intersections have anything for stopping and or who has the right of way.

But I agree, they have very slow reactions to avoid anything

I genuinely think it is a cultural thing. the government there controls so much, stifles individual thought, they just go about thee day thinking all will be ok no matter what they do.

that guy standing in the middle of the street? bro, who does that.

It could just be they have no driver training there. Lord knows there seems to be no enthusiasm for driving. Most auto companies release completely different cars in Japan that do nothing for driving enthusiasts whatsoever.

That was just... amazing. It truly seemed like t hose people were driving with their eyes closed. Some of them there was a good second or more where it was obvious something awful was going to happen, it was RIGHT IN FRONT of both parties, and yet neither did anything to prevent it, or even register that they were conscious at the time leading up to the accident. I think they're all being drugged or soemthing.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Unless you're a foreigner in China, the value of a typical Chinese citizen's life is worth very little. Isn't there a saying that goes something like, "Even if you're that one in a million person, there's still a million of you in China"?
What is odd to me is how most of the people on bulks and such just pop right up like no bog deal. Is it really that common an occurence that it's no big deal?

See my above response. Also, if you're the bicylist that crashed into a car (assuming you survived), you may be liable for damages to the car. Yeah, I know.... Insurance is still a foreign idea to most Chinese citizens.

I suppose you have not been to the Chinatowns in San Francisco or Oakland, CA. Used to have same problem as the video. Which is why these cities spend millions putting in 4-way timed traffic signals with electronic "No Turn On Red" signs.

That could be true....or someone can bribe the local DMV to get a driver's license without passing any test.

I think anything having to do with automobile will be big business in China. Their cities are not automobile-oriented like ours. As of 5 years ago, in a major city such as Guangzhou, you can't find parking meters on the street or, heck, on-street parking at all. Imagine if you can invest in building parking garages over there....

I was in China a few years ago and I can tell you that on a number of occasions I thought we were going to die. We hired a "driver" (we're not allowed to drive in China) and this guy would pass a slower car on a 2-lane road, on a mountain, on a curve, with no way of knowing what was coming from the opposite side!! But oddly enough, I didn't see any accidents at all. I just found it amazing that drivers whiz by other cars and bicycles and even pedestrians by mere inches...and nobody seemed fazed by this at all!

Another weird thing...we'd be driving along on the highway, and suddenly there would be several pieces of wood blocking the lane...this was because the farmer in that area would lay out his wheat to dry on the road! So our driver would have to go into the opposite lane to avoid the farmers' piece of road. It all seemed like a pretty normal thing to do over there.
