Because of financial issue I've been using only 1 Infinity p362 speaker on a pioneer receiver. Most people have at least a pair. I was wondering does it hurt my receiver to just run 1 speaker on the left channel ?
Speaker: LSi 15
Pre/Pro: Pioneer VSX-9040
Amp: Emotiva XPA-2
Sub: Seaton Submersive HP
TV: Samsung PN50B550

    Hello,
No, that isn't a problem. Since there's no speaker on the other channel there isn't anything to provide a load. With no load there's no power being produced in that channel. You should be fine.
    Cheers, Ken

Ken's advice is (ahem, not surprisingly!) true and good for the case at hand.

In the interest of completeness (depending on who might look at this thread), running an amplifier channel unloaded is not a good idea on a vacuum tube amplifier - one risks serious damage to the output transformer and/or output tubes in the un-loaded channel.

Should be fine for a solid state amp, though.

Thanks for clearing out my question. The 1 speaker setup is soon about to be changed though. Bought a pair of LSI15 and it is coming in a couple of days directly from PolkAudio. I listen to all kind of musics and most songs are very bright due to some technique producers use call "frequency equalized" or something that exaggerates the highs. I might be wrong about all that info but my point is LSI15's warm and smooth sound will be certainly appreciated.

I'll be powering them with emotiva XPA-2. I sure don't want the LSI to grill my pionner.

Thanks. I've just been saving up for this upgrade for a very long time. 3 months of savings didn't seem as long as 6 days of waiting for everything to come =\ I am both excited and nervous at the same time. Couldn't find any demo of LSI15 so I had to buy it without any demo.

Congrats on your purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. But I just have to say, 3 months of saving is not a "very long time". You must be young :)

I am 21. Got obsessed with audio 2 years ago, started out with a logitech x-540. Then a Logitech z-5500. Then the infinity. Mentioning of the Infinity it leads me to another question. When a new speaker is purchased they have this termination plug (IDK the real term for it) that was really hard for me to take out, I cut my finger n bled a little in the process. Is there an easier way to take the thing out ?

You and that speaker are now blood brothers. You will always be together in spirit!

I laughed quite a bit. However the Infinity p362 is too bright for me. I hate it for music.
